Is there any info out yet about how one could get transaction data out of the App and import it into various personal finance programs? Most people who are going to get this card will have others and would like this info to be available in a consolidated way with other cards and accounts.

Doesn't have to be swipe... Mine is chip and pin.

Apple doesn't support chip and PIN, they want you to use Apple Pay or swipe to make sure they get maximum processing fees

Generate a card number in the app, have the merchant hand key those numbers.

And enjoy being abused by the people queuing behind you who just pay in half a second with contactless like normal people

Shortly after: Apple Cards banned from flights

People will be fighting with security over that one . (literately). People are worried now their iphone is personal,,,, its just the start .. soon security needs to check your wallet to see if your carrying an Apple card.

Leaked images of credit card design? No thank you.

Oh, I see - you're one of those people who would rather see an UNBOXING of the credit card. Elitist! :)

Looks cool, but not enough rewards. Last CC I got (United explorer) gave me a crazy limit. At least crazy to me.

Cash rewards are the best, for me at least. Airline miles were always useless because of all the restrictions.

They want to make the card to disappear, so that people use Apple Pay.

It's more than that, it depends on credit history I guess.
I guess if your credit score is 700, that's all you can expect.

1. Order Apple Card
2. Scratch off name
3. Demagnetise strip
4. Sharpen edge

You now have an untraceable and concealed edged weapon

How long until Apple starts issuing replacement plastic cards or cards stamped with traceable information?

Why did they make it upside down? I mean, every card with a chip I've seen has the chip on the left when looking at the front of the card. And the magnetic stripe is on the top when looking at the back of the card. Apple's card is the opposite.

Think different? :p

I wonder if it will still be only 1 week to receive the physical card once everybody starts applying.

I may get this card simply to support Apple. Of all the corporate actors, I trust Apple way, way more than I trust most banks. Yes, I understand their are financial actors associated with the card, but Apple has the resources and wherewithal to protect consumers.

Any idea what the card terms will be, in particular, cash back?

You get minus 30% cash back

Sorry that was just for developers, you get 1% cash back

Because when you insert other cards, the text being on the right side is aesthetically displeasing. Now that you've pointed this out, I want an Apple Card even more.

That would only be in situations like I quoted who need to be hand keyed anyway. If Contactless is an option you should be using Apple Pay anyway not hand keying credit card numbers.

Are cards still swiped? I thought that ended decades ago. In fact for less expensive purchases chip and pin’s been pretty much superseded by contactless transactions.

Swiping is almost the norm as opposed to anything else around here. I can gaurentee that not being able to see the number on the card WILL escalate somewhere for law enforcement getting called.

You can get the account information from the Wallet app and then add it into existing apps, like Mint.

So you're out for dinner with a group of friends. Split the check. Server takes everyone's cards.

How do you know you get your own card back?

(oh yeah, "Mine's the plain silver one")

Edit: Apparently your name will be on it. Thanks to those who pointed that out.
