Damn, I was hoping for 32GB to replace 16GB @ $199. That would be the phone I'd get. If it's 16, 64, 128 GB options, I'm gonna have to spring for 64GB @ $299 which ain't bad but not my first choice.

16 GB shouldn't even be an option anymore. iPhone 128 GB $949

There are many people like myself who don't feel the need to carry around thousands of songs and a bunch of movies on our PHONE. I still have 9.7GB available on my 16GB 5s, a 16GB iPhone is more than enough for me. I put all my music on my iPod and never watch movies unless its at home.

For me -- i'm leaning towards 4.7 model but I want pricing range / GB sizes first ..

I went from 3.5" iPhone 4 to 4" iPhone 5 without no problem so adding another 3/4" of an inch won't be a big deal by me ...

If its 32/64 (glass only - no sapphire) I'll get 64 if under 350, "ideally" @ 299.. and I'll get 200GB iCloud service @ $4 a month and do iCloud backups not computer backups any more ...

@ $299 (30.00 tax / accessories prices n tax paid and out the door @ ATT via Next plan) or $350 (35.00 tax / accessories prices n tax paid and out the door @ ATT via Next plan) ..

I have been waiting for this since the iPhone 4s. Please give me 128 gb so I can continue to collect music. I stopped buying music because I ran out of space. I am the reason why iTunes in losing money now.

Seriously? Wireless is utterly pointless... so instead of a tiny cable you need a special Pad or something - that is still plugged into the wall? And it requires a coil and charging circuit in the phone making it larger. And it's only 80% efficient and slower... something apple won't do. Well not yet

No the most important thing is the future batteries that are coming in a few years. 20x batteries with almost instant charging

199$ - 16GB
299$ - 64GB
399$ - 128GB

would make a lot of sense. 100$ for the first additional 48GB, 100$ for the next 64GB.

(Right new it's 100$ for the first additional 16GB, 100$ for the next 32GB, which is a bit uneven, as well as expensive.)

I think this pricing scheme would be great. I hope they do the same for the iPad, but somehow I don't see it happening given Apple's memory pricing history.

And there's not much to get upset about if this the way the phone will be priced. 16GB has been 199, 32 has been 299, so if you wanted 16, nothing changes. If you wanted 32, you get 64. How can you beat that? I just don't see Apple being this generous with the 64 and 128 options.

I am mostly just hoping beyond hope that the base model comes in at 32GB. If that's the case I can finally get a base model again. I went with 64GB the last refresh and didn't end up using the extra space. 32GB will be more than enough for me for the next year.

I might consider getting the next iPad mini and will likely go with higher storage in that. Books/comics are my new thing and those are fun to have stockpiled; don't so much like reading comics on my iphone.

I hadn't even considered that, but yeah it would.

Still, I say 32/64/128! 16 really just isn't enough, even for someone like me who only puts 3/4 of him music (due to space constraints..), has only a few apps and has a few GBs of photos on his phone.

I really don't know why I didn't just buy the stupid 32 GB version.

You could beat that by having 32 standard ;)

----------

So how is it the lowest is 16GB, the stepup is 64GB and the max is 128?
Why doesn't Apple raise the standards and have 32GB be the BASE model?

*Shrug*

They might. This is Mac *Rumors*, not Mac Definitely Gonna Happens. :p

Probably only 16GB

On the article, the images shows 128G... It didn't say GB... it could Gb, which would be 16GB. 1Byte = 8bits, so 128Gb = 16GB... the smallest size on the iPhone.

Exactly. Today to charge your iPhone you need a ~$25 dollar Lightning cable/USB charger combo...and people gripe endlessly on the expense of this setup. How much will this magical wireless charging pad-looking thing cost....$129? $99? No matter what the price, people will complain. And you won't have nearly the ubiquity in charging. Throw a Lightning cable in your bag and you can almost be sure you can vampire some electricity somewhere. To be sure, toss in the fun-size candy bar USB charger and you're set. Let's move on people....

I read an article recently about how Starbux and such places will be installing wireless charging pads on tables (where they wouldn't put a regular outlet or cable). So that's a big advantage -- a coming time when these become ubiquitous in public, offered as a convenience, so you can charge up while you eat, etc. Unfortunately, there are currently several competing standards for the technology....

If they skipped the 32 and went to 64GB i would be very happy as I was planning on spending the extra $100 on space upgrade anyway

What I am more curious about is why is Samsung missing in that list... I thought they were the major flash memory suppliers...

I can see the 128GB only being available for the 5.5" iPhone 6. Apple maybe looking at it from a phablet point of view, the iPad has had 128GB since the iPad 4 (i think) so it makes sense to bring it to the 5.5"

It is called up selling.

I know, but iPad Air has 4 storage options, from 16 to 128, so I think they'll do the same on the iPhone.
Adding a 4th storage option means they can squeeze even more money from people who need the extra storage.
Anyway I hope they'll offer 3 models starting from 32, I'd really love that. But you know, Apple loves to make a lot of money, so I'm afraid they'll let me down this time

I doubt there will be 8 iPhone 6 models to choose from.

Therefore I wish there would be only 64GB and 128GB versions of both 4.7" and 5.5" iPhone 6 models.

16GB could be reserved for iPhone 5s as an low end option.

I would love to be able to put all 55GB of music on my phone :)
But I won't be able to if the 4.7" 128GB doesn't show up on September 9th :(
Nor will I be able to if they phone costs $599

I hope this is not true, i mean yeah for those who need 128gb is great and all but i only have my music and some pics in my phone now so 16 is not enough but 32 is just about perfect for all that and apps, i mean i don't think i'd need a 64gb one so i hope the base model is 32 rather than 16 and if not i'd have to buy the 64 gb one
