The charge issue was not exclusive to the 1st generation, I have the issue on my 2nd generation and there have been postings on this site of owners of the 3rd gen having charge issues

To shuffle a playlist I have to first start playing it and then hit shuffle. Whats more annoying is doing it this way plays the first track on the playlist, every damn time. Why did they remove the force tough option where you push on the playlist and can shuffle it straight away. Madness.

I don't think its coming back/ Not anytime soon that is. I'm still surprised how almost no tech websites/channels have discussed this.

Not sure what you guys are doing but I'm on the 4.1 and I can control my entire iCloud music library from the watch. Open music app, scroll to top and open library, Playlists, Artists, Albums, Songs all there.

Doesn't show all the music on your phone. Used to have the option of switching between watch and phone as music source, and then controlling whichever you selected. Was excellent and now sorely missed.

... stand hours are "broken" somehow... For the month I have my AW3 my average Stand Hours are 13 (!!!) considering I am "office rat" and sit all day long - but trying to obey stand up reminders

But not your local library?

I thought this as well but you can open the "now playing" feature via the bottom side button app switcher and then select either iPhone or Watch :)

By local do you mean on the watch? You can access that all from the music app on the watch. Use the iPhone to choose which music should be synched. Don't think there is a limit anymore.

I mean the library on my Mac. I can stream music from it on my AW3 on watchOS4, but only skip, pause and play the current song, not browse the library anymore (this was still possible under watchOS3?).

Actually just playing with it now I see what you mean. You cant see all the iPhone music and control it via the watch. You can control the iPhone music volume, pause fast forward etc only.

The issue I have with this is that I cant "airplay" to my stereo via the Apple watch as it doesn't support it! I can only stream to a bluetooth device and my stereo is plugged into an Airport Express.

“Addresses an issue that prevented Apple Watch (1st generation) from charging for some users“

oh thank GOD! I thought I was going crazy or my watch was going bad!

"Resolves an issue that caused haptics to not be delivered for silent alarms "

Thank goodness. I thought something was just wrong with my wrist...

We might need to re-evaluate how the watch affects our sanity.

Both of these problems happened to me.

It is really a great feature to be able to control iTunes through the watch, but my library does not contain only one album/playlist... And even then, on watchOS4 I am not even able to chose the next song from the playlist freely but instead I have to skip to it. I don't really want to be forced to stream via iCloud (I don't even use iCloud Music) to be able to see my whole library when I am at home and actually could have access to my locally stored music at my computer.

Is other music streaming likely? I’d love to continue with my google music but I’ll swap over to Apple Music if that’s the only option. I hate saying that but the biggest reason I got this thing was to stream music on runs.

Also curious about radio app. Is this free? Is it like the old radio was that they bundled with iTunes music (or whatever the device where you can upload your library to the cloud)? I loved that but essentially moved on when they took that away.

So yeah the stands thing is huge in my house. I am constantly getting hey dear this is not working texts every single day cause they are missing the goals. Apple glad to see you found the issue and fixed it

With all the confusion around this I can understand why Apple removed the function. I've read that many people didn't understand if music was playing from the Watch or iPhone and then music stopped when then went for a run and they likely complained to Apple.

Adding to the confusion is what happens if you are using headphones with the W1 chip that can change from being connected to the Watch or the iPhone and in some cases the Powerbeats3 seems to chose on it's own which device to which it wants to be paired.

I use Sony MDR-1000x headphones and don't want to stream further compressed tracks through my watch all day when I have a phone capable of at least AAC compression (ideally it would be APTX or LDAC). I'm not sure how long the battery on the watch would last streaming anyway.

I don't have 4.1, so I can't comment as to how this will eventually function, but I imagine the solution Apple is using will be limited to headphones with the W1 chip and that even when it appears the headphones are paired to the watch, the iPhone will actually be serving the music to save battery life. However, this would preclude 3rd party headphones without the W1 chip.

The only hope at this point I think is from third party apps like Albums or NEplayer that can serve as an iPhone remote.

I bought the series 3 LTE for many of the new features. But really, the music experience on watchOS 4 is a partial downgrade from watchOS 3 even taking the watch streaming music into account.

I missed my alarm this morning but thought it was because I was really tired. Is this issue on older versions or even series 3.

Adding Apple Music Streaming?

Oh well, that will mean a few dozen more patent violation lawsuits coming Apple's way in the near future.
I wonder how many lawyers Apple has on retainer in East Texas? They may need a good few more.;)

I totally understand this and this is most likely the reason why the feature to control ur music with a watch was left out. HOWEVER why not have a toggle in watch settings (or phone) with default OFF and anyone who wants this feature can turn it ON...
