Hi, is there any leather sleeve that you would recommend for iPad Pro 12.9” with the new Magic Keyboard? I’m currently using Hardgraft’s leather sleeve for my iPP 12.9” and loving it, but unfortunately it doesn’t fit with Magic Keyboard attached because of its bigger size than Smart Folio/Keyboard...

Check out The WaterField air caddy
I’ve got a few bags from WaterField and love them. I’ve recently seen a picture of nylon Air Caddy somewhere, but just found out they also have a leather version from their website after reading your comment. Thanks!

Grams28, size 114
Just checked their website and this looks so nice and lightweight! Thanks for the recommendation!

You got it! I can definitely vouch that their stuff is impressively top notch quality and designed to age beautifully. And re: the size recommendation, the size 114 was confirmed by the company for the iPad Pro 12.9 2018/2020 with MK; the 113 for the naked IPP

Well the OP's post sent me on a quest to check out my iPad sleeve collection. Two strikes out of three :(. I do have the Waterfield Air Caddy ordered.

My older Pad & Quill case, originally purchased for the 12" MacBook worked with my 2018 iPad Pro 12.9" with the original Apple Folios. With the new MK, nope. Well that was probably too much to ask. I'd check their line out. If they don't have something now. I know they will have something soon.

I also had an Esty purchase from Crazy Horse Craft "Handmade in Lithuania". Nope.

Finally my Vaja beautiful all leather case came through. This was an expensive purchase, but it is beautiful. I did buy it on sale months ago. So please don't let your eyes bug out when you see the current price. I do love it. That really would have been a hard hit if I had to pass it on.

I bought this one from Amazon, I like it cause it was a pocket on the outside and a pencil loop on the inside, it closes with magnets. Also fits with the keyboard case.

I just checked via a live Chat with Native union. They confirmed the the 12.9" Slim Stow will fit the 12.9" iPad with the MK. It looks like a nice carry. BTW I see it cheaper on their site than Amazon. I don't know what shipping would cost from them directly.

yes I have the 11” forgot to mention that, I love it so much cause it keeps everything in one neat package, feels great carrying it around, I used to use the Apple Leather one back in the Day, I found the Apple Pencil would fall out of the pencil holder, I like how it’s inside the sleeve.

I’d never heard of Gram 28, they seem really nice. Thanks. I’ve got an 11” iPad Pro and it looks like they offer that in a 105 and 106 size, so 106 may be the way to go for me.

Side note: those are some good looking AirPod Pro leather cases too, love how thin it is. Some of the other solutions I’ve tried are bulky but I’ve been dealing with it not knowing this was out there.

I have been using the old Apple iPad leather sleeve (that you mention a couple posts down) that was meant for the previous gen iPad Pro. Really tight fit, but I loved how slim it was, so I made it work with the iPad Pro (2018). However, with the magic keyboard, there's just no way it fits, so I'm in search of a new solution as well. Although it's not a leather case like I was looking for, it looks nice. Thanks for this.

I chatted online with Native Union today. The Chat person claimed it worked with the Apple Magic Trackpad Keyboard Folio on the 12.9” 2018 iPad. Maybe call them in case the Chat person didn’t know that there is a new version.

Thanks for looking into that. The Native Union sleeve seems to have a bit of wiggle room, so it should fit. I don't have a 12.9", but I tried to measure my iPad Pro 11" with the MK attached, and I am measuring roughly 9.75 in x 7.5 in (more like 7.5 plus another 1/16 inch, whatever that is o_O) . According to their website, the internal dimensions of the 11" sleeve are 10.4 in x 8.0 inches. The extra room will be needed for an Apple Pencil, so this should be ok since the Apple pencil is less than 0.5 inches wide. I'm going to give it a shot, Amazon says it'll be here next Tuesday, May 5.

Here is the internal and external size guide for both 11" and 12.9" models for those curious: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0066/9050/4822/files/stow-slim-ipad-size-guide-v2.jpg?v=1579722443

The options everyone has come up with all look really nice and well made. Still wish this was leather, but I'm so used to using the old Apple leather sleeve (basically something without a zipper), this still looks really nice, enough for to me to overlook that.

The 13”, 2018 MBP Apple leather sleeve is a good fit for the 12.9” iPad in the smart folio, but a bit of the iPad/MKB combo sticks out the top. Good enough to toss in a bag. Can’t use it with the pencil docked in that mode though.

I’m using an old Waterfield padded Cordura laptop sleeve with a Velcro strap closure. Holds the complete system with the pencil docked, and protects from impact/vibration when I drop the system into my motorcycle panniers. Has D-rings for a shoulder strap, should one be needed. In terms of their current offerings, this is the closest thing.

You can get it in leather if desired. They specifically indicate it fits the iPad with the MKB.

I’m liking the Waterfield collection also. Just a FYI to those considering, their office is closed due to a shelter-in-place order through the end of May. So orders probably won’t ship until June.

I’m not getting a sleeve, but I ordered the Pad & Quill Cafe Leather case which they assure will go all the way around the Magic Keyboard case —

I already had a Native Union Slim Stow sleeve and can confirm that the iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard will fit correctly in the sleeve. You can also keep the pencil docked in the sleeve. Occasionally pulling the iPad Pro out will strip the pencil, but it just drops inside the sleeve.
