yeah, switching back to windows is a weird concept to me. when i come across people who 'switched back' i tend to think they were doing something wrong. not that they were, it's just that my experience with windows (from the beginning of time until 2004) has never been good... perhaps i was doing something wrong.
well, op, not sure why you decided to tell us all this aside from perhaps just attempting to get us all to tell you that we don't like windows very much  . you can go now, if that's what you were waiting for.

Well, if you want to waste money on the same hardware, have fun!

I run a PC and a Powerbook. I still love OS X more than Windows XP Pro. Since Apple doesn't treat me like a criminal when I go to reinstall my OS. Haha.

Now now now people, cut him some slack. I don't think he posted to get a reaction. He just wanted to tell everyone a thank you and goodbye, which is very nice of him in my opinion. The guy just want to thank the community that has helped him in the past, nothing wrong with that.

It's an interesting thank you to say that a user base turned him away from a product and that he's glad to no longer be a part of it.

If thats his thank you, I'd hate to hear what this guy has to say when he says you're welcome.

Well, he was thankful and polite at first, but people kept bashing him.

I like using Office for Mac much better than the new Microsoft Office. Word is so confusing!

You and me both. I'm glad as hell I've got Pages, my family still use Word and really don't like the new look of Office
I think that sums it up really. Vista and Office take what Windows users used to know and run circles with it. OSX and it's suite of applications just do what they're supposed to in a cognitive way.

And to the chap who brought it up - My iMac has provided me with my bext Windows experience too :) *taps case* good quality hardware in here.

I really was curious as to what the deciding factors might have been. I wondered if he were a HS student, and if that old bug-a-boo, peer pressure, weighed in on this. Apparently not.

I have been through all sorts of os's from AIX UNIX, Red hat, fedora, mandrake now mandriva, suse, freebsd, slackware, basiclly any flavor of linux i have used it all the same kernel but different features and yes all of windows from 3.1 to vista ultimate and servers. I remember the day I said screw Bill gates and his os's and spyware and viruses and all the crap that i had to deal with and running adobe premier and photoshop on a highend pc was like running it on a 300mhz system so i traded my system for a Quicksilver with dual 1.25ghz 512megs of ram and a 64vram video card and final cut express and cs3 runs smoother than my very high end system that i had. I will never go back to a pc ever I am a macr for life I want to give steve jobs a big thank you for his doings and what he has done for the community of apple users. I wake up to my quicksilver smiling at it all the time :D i just wish i had an lcd lol.
