Frankly, the M1 brought me back to Apple as I was just using my MBP until it was a dead horse (2105 15"). However, the M1 not only brings some options of power, but may revitalize some software that will be brought over as M1 will become the standard for Mac computers. Meanwhile, there are plenty of web apps, Rosetta 2 capable apps and a nice trickle of M1 "native" apps. I'll stick around (just got an M1 Mac Mini 512/16) and likely next year replace that laptop.
