With my encrypted DNS - which I run as a profile on my Mac OS, iPad OS, and iPhone - it's AMAZING to see the number of blocks and what is being blocked. Apple is in there... This is a 90 day snapshot of my usage (blocked list).
As a long time Google user on iPhone, I can only say that there are ways to turn things off. You just have to dig into the privacy settings.I don't like being the product sold.
I left quite a while ago for the same reasons as you.As a long time Google user on iPhone, I can only say that there are ways to turn things off. You just have to dig into the privacy settings.
For the rest, there are ad blockers
I use Google on iPhone because it's one of a few services that work cross platform. Back in my PowerPC Mac days it was Google (and Microsoft) that allowed me to sync things up with my iPhone. Because Apple dropped me like a hot rock when the iPhone 5 launched.
Google is also part of the services I use that allow me to come and go from both Android and iOS as I wish. I'm not bound to either ecosystem. And I can thank Apple for making that happen by their slamming the door in my face in 2012.
I'm sorry, I didn't mean to imply I've left iOS. Just that because Apple cut off my PowerBook G4 in 2012, I leveraged my Google account in order to be able to sync things up between my Mac and my iPhone. Jailbreaking my iPhones also helped quite a bit.I left quite a while ago for the same reasons as you.
I still have old iphones in the drawer somewhere, 5s, 6s and 8 plus but I even left the google system and went totally grapheneos and so far so good.I'm sorry, I didn't mean to imply I've left iOS. I'm still on iPhone and Mac, I just use Google's services (and some other third party services). I did go to Android from May 2020 to February 2021 to try out the Pixel. I still have that phone (right in front of me in fact) and I use it on WiFi since the SIM card is in my 11 Pro Max. But I'm on iOS.
are those iphones affected by the system data overload bug ?I still have old iphones in the drawer somewhere, 5s, 6s and 8 plus but I even left the google system and went totally grapheneos and so far so good.
Not that I can remember. The latest iOS version is iOS 16 on the 8+, iOS 15 on the 6s and ios12 on the 5s.are those iphones affected by the system data overload bug ?
Could you please check the storage? Not that I can remember. The latest iOS version is iOS 16 on the 8+, iOS 15 on the 6s and ios12 on the 5s.
I haven't really looked at them in a good while other than see if there is any updates.
Before it became unsupported I got Apple to change the battery on the 6s.
Le met ask the question like this. What issue am I having with the stock keyboard?iOS fails in the basics, like:
- Stock keyboard.
iOS wasn’t designed for true multitasking, therefore it’s not a fail.- True multitasking in the background or with two apps open in split view.
Are they. I thought they were in the upper left.- Back button or gesture all over the place.
To me this is a fake fail.- Assistance functionality, like Siri compared to Gemini.
It’s not like it can’t be turned off. You just don’t like how it’s done.- Not being able to truly active or deactivate WiFi and Bluetooth in the quick settings toggles.
Swipe from top.- No gestures to pull down the notification panel (ALL Android phones have this by now, very useful with big phones).
You pull down the control menu.- No quick settings toggle for auto-brightness. You have to go deep in the settings menu...
Maybe here is the first legitimate criticism.- Files still duplicate if you copy them from app to app.
Matter of opinion.- Finder/Files app is horrible.
I thought there was.- No full functionality integration with USB pendrives or hard drives.
