Reminds of trying to cancel Sirius Satellite Radio... those guys wouldn't leave me alone until I finally got fed up with their nagging and quit being nice.

I actually cancelled my Sirius last Saturday because I sold the Jeep that had the built in radio and they gave me no problems, only offered me the Sirius Stratus 6 radio for $12. I declined and they cancelled it no problems.

Then later that Saturday me and the wife went on a 2.5 hour roadtrip and realized just how gawsh-awful terrestrial radio is and I called them back on Tuesday when I got back in town and signed up for it again.

On topic, Verizon is real good about letting you come back after a month or two and putting things back how they were before. I did this in 2008 I think it was, when I went to Sprint for the Touch Diamond when it was first released. After being thoroughly abused and mistreated by Sprint stemming from a defective unit I gladly went right back to Verizon about 45 days later.

I may regret this, but not one peep from Verizon since I ported two numbers on 6/24.

I called that day and stated that I would like to close the account. I was told there would be a bill of $6-8. The cycle ended the 22nd.

Just checked. My bill is payed in full. Just called, same response.

It probably cost them more to bill me for about $6 than to write it off.

Now, since I posted this, the calls will start.

I don't see any reason (as of now) to go back to Verizon. My main concerns were internet and 3G quality after reading so many horror stories about no internet for hours at a time, etc. But in all honesty, I would take AT&T's EDGE on a much prettier and responsive iPhone than Verizon's largest 3G network on an LG envTouch's pixelated and awful screen. Even if I switched to a Droid, I can't imagine having better internet quality.

And with all these rumors for Verizon to offer the iPhone and whathaveyou, that, to me, only means that AT&T's bandwidth would be freed up and Verizon will have a taste of shutdown networks and slowed service. And LTE is just around the corner- so we'll be sharing service off each others' towers essentially. So then what?
