I work in the technology sector.
Imagine how depressing it would be to dedicate a single minute of your life to building or marketing a copycat device.
What a pathetic, tragic waste of materials, energy, and human labour.
I do work in Technology also... more than 40 years..... and I think different
Samsung and so many more have had such immense growth by copying!
I truly believe it have
very efficient for them to copy and have success by it!
Of course they just did it at the beginning (mostly), but now they fly a bit more distant in that regard.
But they build their brand, their empire, upon a Copy.
So did Windows, as a matter of fact!
It let Microsoft become
one of the biggest players in town, by copying the MacOS.
Very efficient in human labour. I have never seen worst made products in my life, yet they did got so far by copying... So, I believe it did work for them!
And even by doing it horribly wrong, they did got away with it very far!
Steve Jobs always complained, not by the copy itself, but how horribly bad was the copy!
(I have worked with both OS all my life, and I do feel the same!)
Copying is just one way of achieving success.
Of course Google maybe got inspired by Altavista, maybe Yahoo, and look where it got by doing it better!
I had a Newton and latter a Palm Pilot. The latter copy killed the former one.
I really hope this will never happen to the iPhone.... never..... I hope..... but then... maybe its Nothing..... can someone new come and do it? never say never...... but I hope not.
There is always room to copy!
