On topic, this is of course a genius marketing move. Even those who hate him will chime in about it which just spreads word that there is something new coming. Those buds might be pumping sound into a cavernous void, but in branding, he's no dummy.

Great picture huh? That guy has issues. Not even close in class or ability to the GOAT Michael Jordan
While I agree he's not in Jordan's atmosphere, he's a great father, seems to be a great husband, very active in his community and charities, and other than being a complete douchebag in his earlier days through his Miami days, he seems like a good guy. This is coming from someone who despised him for years.

Well I know what product I will not be buying.

You really base your purchasing habits on what other people buy?

If it turns out he also uses an iPhone (which is a pretty reasonable assumption) would you not buy one again?

What about if he also uses a Mac? Would you not use one then?

How far does it go?

James can drop off the face of the earth for all I care.

Thankfully, that isn't really how gravity works.

Apple is saturating every market with more models and product. Maybe that's right for them but as long time follower makes it all a little less interesting/special.

Depends on how specific we get regarding the product. Are we talking about the specific one used? I wouldn’t buy used earbuds regardless of who the previous owner was, LeBron James or not. Same goes for iPhones and Macs as well if the previous owner used to stick them in their ears.

Not buying a brand new copy of the product on the other hand would usually require more than an individual having another copy of said product. The individual would need to have some stake in the product for me to act like that. Like if Tim Cook did something really nasty I could absolutely see myself boycotting new Apple products until he’s gone.

I could also see myself refrain from buying a product that is strongly associated with questionable groups of people. Probably wouldn’t post about it on a forum but rather keep it a personal choice as it wouldn’t be about the product nor the company per se.

In any case, hope the guy enjoys his prerelease earbuds. Who knows, maybe he’ll provide valuable feedback to improve the product if needed before a public release?

James has pretty much jumped the shark. You can only trot that tired old horse out so many times before it gets old.

He HAD to chime in about the incident at the Sixers game last night, and of course the press was on it like catnip.

I was like who cares what James has to say about a Sixers game he’s not playing in.

This is Philly. Leave our jawn alone. The locals will deal with popcorn fool. Philly fans of all stripes are ruthless…

That is a smart observation.

It never occurred to me that all those people just meant they don't want to buy that specific pair of earbuds.

Like stuck an iPhone in his ear, for example?

Just because you don't think so, doesn't make it false. Sorry. I know many people who buy apple because apple. And no other reason. If apple made sand paper toilet paper I know people would would buy that over charmin and it's fluffy softness...... and YES, the airpods are a garbage design. Apple is the Harley Davidson of tech.
charmin leaves pieces behind, despite what they say, as does any "fluffy soft" toilet paper. it's gross.

I'm surprised so many of you are confused and indifferent towards this. Apple couldn't have asked for a better "leak" advertisement. These buds are going to sell like hotcakes.

Even Rodman has more class.

But frankly, of the biggest stars of the past, Magic was a real class act. Good businessman, good person, maybe a little too loose with his “love” though.

I worked with him on a charity PR commercial thing yeags ago. Drove up in a yellow Bentley convo but was a very down to earth, self-deprecating guy. I held his cue-cards and when he messed up a line, it was “Come on Earvin, pay attention!” to himself. Thanked everyone, took pictures with people, signed autographs. Just a great experience compared to so many celebrities out there.

4 NBA Championships with 3 different teams, the most recent being last season. Pretty much the opposite of jumping the shark. He is 36 but still near the top of his game. It’s quite incredible, actually.
