So far only two of Asimov’s novels have been made into movies, Fantastic Voyage and I, Robot.
I have read the full Foundation series not less than 20 times each book and I am pretty sure there is no emperor with a name "Brother Day". I am begging this is an error on the article and not a real character introduced by Apple. The only thing that Apple TV+ needs to do perfectly is the Foundation show so please, please Apple don't screw it up.
Hopefully the show is better than the books. I remember really liking the Foundation trilogy (and other books in the series) in high school but I just reread it this year and was very underwhelmed. Asimov's writing improves over the trilogy but many of his books are almost nothing but dialogue. Once he learned to write a little action (3rd book in the trilogy), the books and characters became more interesting. Instead of just saying something they did something. If the show is done well, it has the potential to improve on the source material. I say this as a solid Asimov fan (or at least I was when younger; I've read and re-read 6 or 7 of his books in the past couple years and wasn't impressed).
When will those of us that got an 11 be able to sign up for the free year?
but Brother Day? Emperor? huh? ... maybe if it was Cleon, yeahHarris Seldon...fantastic...loved him in Mad Men, Expanse AND The Terror... and LOVED Pace in Halt and Catch Fire
What the... When was the last time you read Foundation? Or have you, even? Hari Seldon is dead for the vast majority of the original trilogy. He features as an old man participating in recruiting for the fledgling Foundation (which does already exist) in like the first chapter of Foundation, and then he's a holographic recording in every appearance after that point.Except he creates the Foundation in the original trilogy. Read the novels before theorizing about them lol.
I thought "I Robot" was basically spoiled by (a) a pair of trainers and (b) making Susan Calvin the sex interest. Apart from that (Mrs Lincoln) it did pull in a lot of ideas and themes from Asimov's robot stories - particularly what would happen once robots/AI got smart enough to start getting creative with the 3 laws. Reputedly, it started out as a completely different story by another author - either it got re-written a lot or that story was a pretty shameless rip-off.
He played a boring-ass character barely recognisable under that hood and all that dark makeup, like Christopher Eccleston as Malekith. The movie may be extremely popular, but it's not a notable role.Marvel movies are the most popular in the world. Guardians of the Galaxy is a flagship Marvel property. More people have heard of Guardians of the Galaxy than any thing else he has been in.
Now this I am looking forward to. Hope each episode will be its own story and not strung out into a single monologue..... too much🤞
Lee Pace and Jared Harris have scored lead roles in Apple's upcoming "Foundation" series that's based on the classic Isaac Asimov novel of the same name, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
Pace is known for his roles in "Pushing Daisies" and "Halt and Catch Fire," along with his work in "The Hobbit" movies. Harris is known for "Chernobyl," "Carnival Row," "The Crown," "The Expanse," and "Mad Men," among other TV shows and movies.

Asimov's "Foundation" series follows a psychohistory expert and mathematician Hari Seldon who is able to predict the future. Seldon creates a group called the Foundation to preserve humanity's collective knowledge ahead of the impending fall of the Galactic Empire.
There are multiple novels in the "Foundation" series that span many years and cover the rise and fall of multiple empires. Harris will be playing Hari Seldon, the mathematical genius, while Pace will play Brother Day, the Emperor of the Galaxy.
Apple TV+ is set to launch on November 1, but as "Foundation" is still in the casting stages, it will be some time before it premieres. The service will launch with titles like "The Morning Show," "See," "For All Mankind," and "Dickinson."
Apple is charging $4.99 per month for Apple TV+, but customers who purchase an iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, or Mac can get a free year of service. Each $4.99 subscription fee allows up to six family members to watch.

No. You can't. If there is zero probability for you to try it and become a customer, Apple will rather keep that marketing money to themselves.💤 I haven't seen anything of interest in any of Apple's TV efforts. I don't think I am their target market.
If I buy an iPhone can I have a discount if I don't want Apple TV+ bundled with it?
