What is that based on? FUD?
Based on past actions. Apple previously had a _limited_ battery recall for iPhone 6 models and those that didn't match the serial numbers in the recall, apple put out a software fix, aka cpu throttling.

A battery recall for a particular defect in some batteries based on serial numbers is separate and differs than battery performance management. All of those things are yet even more different than an optimization option in terms of any relevance to some sort of claims. Seems like FUD is still the driving force between all those assumed connections.

No. iPhones cannot overcharge. I also charge mine every night on a wireless charger for 8+ hours. It’s actually better for the battery than to fast charge it when you need it.

This business of stressing over charging overnight has become an overblown issue.

I had an iPhone 5c for as long as I can remember and charged it every night the entire time I owned it...several years. When it did finally become time to retire it, retired i the battery was still holding a full charge every day. So, I honestly pay no attention to whether or not I charge all night.

Plus, I would dare say that most people who care one bit about whether or not it's safe to charge a phone battery all night are most likely the type who will actually update their phone way before the battery goes bad anyway.
