Derp. You realize the interior of a car can exceed 120f within 30 minutes on a 90f day?

I'm sure you thought your post was clever, but those are storage guidelines. It's safe to leave it there for a week at up to 113 degrees. You would be likely to mess up superficial components first, such as rubber and possibly cord sheathing. Lithium ion batteries can catch fire, but if they are in normal working order, it would require a much hotter temperature. The internal logic board components vary in terms of what they will withstand, but it's still much higher. Your mistake is interpreting storage guidelines as the peak of what these things can withstand for a short period of time.

...only for one hour, and it was inside my backpack on the backseat. I realized and had my girlfriend scoop it up, so it was only in there an hour. Just got it this month, brand new, late 2014 model. Is my baby okay? Worried.

The motherboard and all components go through minimum 217*C of heat during the reflow soldering process [at least 10 seconds] and over 3 minutes of 40*C+ heat. Trust me, 40*C heat is nothing to a computer.
