I use to change the side one time a year. Now, it's right pocket, right handed.

These threads are so incredibly ridiculous. Who gives a **** which pocket you carry your iPhone in??? Be creative and carry in any pocket you like. Keep it in your shoe, that would be much better. :D

Cargo pants: right cargo pocket
Slacks: left side in belt pouch
Texting/Email: both hands
Phone calls: right hand, switch to left when right gets fatigued.

I'm right handed and place it in my right front pocket if i need to.
I usually avoid putting my phone in my pant pocket though. It's usually in my right jacket/coat/hoodie pocket or in my right hand

Left handed and keep my phone in my right back pocket.

Back pocket because I typically carry my EDC knife clipped and hanging in my right front pocket and I don't want it banging against my phone. And I keep it in the right pocket (though I'm left handed) because I typically hold the phone in my right hand and "hunt and peck" with my left hand.

Other than when wearing dressy clothes, I tend to wear cargo style shorts or "Carpenter's" jeans/trousers in order to have the extra pockets. I guess I like to carry a lot of stuff. Typical stuff, Keys, wallet, pocket knife, change, honey baked ham ;), and phone typically (and I don't like to use back pockets at all)

I have several pair of these from Carhartt (denim & canvas) and this is the pocket my iPhone lives in:

I suggest better fashion choices.

I'm left handed and keep it in my right pocket. Sometimes I will keep the phone in my left back pocket though.

I find it interesting that the poll roughly reflects the national average for lefties. I think last I heard it was 14%

why is that?
Why does it matter? I'm a lefty and I use the right pocket. I suspect it's because I mostly hold the phone with my right hand while operating it with the left when 2 handed and just with the right when 1 handed. "Dominant" doesn't always mean "the only hand I can use". As a lefty in a righty world it pays to be able to use your right hand IMO. Lefty scissors and mice/trackballs aren't that common, for example.

In any case do what works for you.

I'm right handed, and having to wear dress pants for 40 hours a week I invested in a few pairs that actually have an internal pocket in my right pocket that is the perfect size for my iPhone 4 and bumper. Outside of work I still keep my iPhone in my right front pocket, as my left front pocket is reserved for my keys/smokes and my left rear pocket(when not wearing basket ball shorts, which is often outside of work) is reserved for my wallet. Right rear pocket is barely used, if only for the occasional pack of chewing gum(5 Cobalt, for those who wonder).

Right pocket. Thank God it's winter now. I feel more comfortable putting it in the inside pocket of my jacket. :)

Left pocket, right handed and I'll tell you why. I got my first cellphone when I went to High School. I rode to high school on my bike. I put my cellphone in the left pocket so my right hand was still on the steer when I wanted to take out my cellphone.

Funny results by the way. The left pocket is more popular with both right and left handed people... But because there are more right-handed people it works out 50-50 for right or left pocket.

Carry a gun for work and outside of work and never have anything on my right side except for my gun, keep everything else on my left. I guess so my right hands always free and ready;)
