I won't need it for anything except to keep up to date on the latest software so I can stay current and participate in these MR forums. Plus, it gives me an excuse to buy a new imac, which I don't otherwise need. I have a graphite G3 with Tiger and it meets all of my needs just fine. But I understand that Leopard won't run well (or I suspect at all) on it. Lastly, it will make my wife mad, which is fun to do.

I switched 5 years ago now and I remember moving from 3.1 to 95 to 98 to Me to XP always hoping that the new release would fix the problems of the last version.
Mac OS X has not been like that at all for me. Each version has worked just fine and the only reason I did update is because I wanted to. I never felt I needed to. There have always been improvements and new features I thought were worth the cost. Hey, the cost is low enough to do that, but if for some reason you feel it's too much to keep spending on software; the version you still have will work fine for a long time.

I need the new iCal and Mail. I am looking for a better to-do/notes/calendar system, and I think this will do it.

Spaces looks great, and the rest is just needed polish to me.

The new parental controls are what pushed me over the edge. I was going to wait a long while before getting it, but my son needs some "help" right now managing his computer usage.

To improve productivity, I need it....... I guess. :)

Spaces - if it's as easy as it sounds, it's going to be great. Never found Exposé that useful but Spaces sounds promising.

Stacks - I'm a clutter whore. This is one of the main things I'm looking forward to.

Mail - some of the new features in Mail sound potentially useful. More like the To-Dos. The Stationary seems a little cheap at tacky. I hate getting fancy schmancy emails from people when all they're telling me is that they're having a baby or something.:p

But it's Spaces and Stacks that are the most promising, I guess.
