Can somebody please explain to me what this means?
What I get from it is, that when activited, Safari begins storing data onto a special part of your drive that opperates in such a way that Unix commands do not work.

Meaning, there is no way for a command being opperated on that part of the drive to control the rest of your drive.

Your system and its files would not be affected by arbitraty code run by websites.

Multi-line tabs are not logical, and are a very poor design choice. I highly doubt Apple will implement this. Ergo, the list is BS. :)
Multi-line tabs aren't logical, but neither is the little carat in Safari now, that HIDES all the other tabs until you click it. The point is that having so MANY tabs is awkward (and Microsoft shouldn't do that in their UI)--but if the user CHOOSES to make that many tabs, I'd rather have them visible all at once--and have them all WORK the same way. Right now, that's not the case.

Here's the reason why I think it's fake:There's no way that Apple is going to give us full screen QuickTime for free. ;)
Curse you! You're right. :D

These pictures where already posted here... and determined to be very suspicious... Take a look for yourself.

Thanks for the link. I agree the full-size images are suspicious. I share the grave doubts now... back to suspense!

But I'll also remember that I doubted the Dashboard screenshots which were real :)

So isolation box is a security tool to prevent harm caused by malicious web sites?

Why doesn't it run all the time?

This is one of the reasons I think this stuff is made up. I just can't see MS or Yahoo! allowing them to do this.
Why would they have a problem with this when the Yahoo and MSN clients were both just updated to do exactly the same thing?

They are not "hacking" anything, in the criminal definition of the word. It breaks no laws nor constraints and is perfectly legal.

Trillian, for example, is a closed-source IM client which you can buy over the net. They have legally been in opperation for several years.

It is not by some secret, illegal "hacking" that this is possible, nor is it by affiliation with Yahoo!/MSN/AOL.

correct, isn't yahoo open (as in OSS) to development?

this has to do with the jabber protocols right? this would be awesome as i like to use ichat and the jabber protocols for google talk, messenger adn yahoo but you can only have one open at a time.

I wasn't using it in the illegal sense of the term. I realize it can be done legally but I'm not sure MS or Yahoo! would like it though they couldn't prevent it. I just meant that I figure Apple would want the blessing of the company whos IM protocol they would be using.

Fair enough, I didn't know that. Is that integration endorsed by Yahoo, or a hack like with other Mac messaging solutions?

It is not a hack and is endorsed by both Yahoo and MSN.

I'm all for Yahoo and MSN integration. It will be interesting to see if they change the layout and style of some of the apps. One I'm looking for is a better iCal. I can't explain it, but I have never really liked iCal that much. I would love to use it on a more frequent basis.

Of course it's legal. Yahoo and MSN are joining forces and making each of their services available on each others
client. They don't care which client you're using. Just as long as you subscribe to their service.

OK OK, so no hacks required. The key thing is (if this is true) is will we have to jump through hoops to use all these other protocols?

I never got anywhere with jabber, and Adium just crashes on me.

Didn't this Powerpage site have it good authority that Apple were releasing Plasma TV's at Macworld 2006?

I vote for fake!

Who knows if these features will make it into Leopard, but if they do it would only be coincidence because this list of features is fake fake fake just as fake as the screen caps.

I'm unclear on rumor history... have screen captures ever been leaked before and been found to be correct? For Apple software I mean.

I like how all the Photoshop experts come out of the woodwork when these "leaked" images show up.

I am not saying they are real...I have no idea, and am not a self-proclaimed expert. But I would like to remind everyone that right before the WWDC where Jobs introduced Tiger to the world, a couple of screenshots showing Dashboard and Spotlight were being passed around the net...

...and just about every "expert" claimed they were totally fake. "Look at that Calculator icon in orange...it's hideous!" "It's just a hacked Konfabulator!" "Little spotlights in System Preferences? Who the hell would think that is a good idea?"

So...with only 3 days left to know for sure, maybe it's better to **** and wait instead of making bold proclamations that could turn out to make you look silly. If nothing else, we have something fresh to talk about now. :)

I'm waiting until 10.5.3 at the earliest... I want a version of Leopard that is close to bug-free...

Let's start a club. A club for people who love new products from Apple, but won't be caught dead with the first release or Rev. A model from them, and will wait until an update or 2 comes out.
