No change with ShadowKiller, it doesn't remove shadow off text - thanks for reminding me though, I'll keep it as a login item - I'm sure it'll help speed things along by a fraction.
It's odd that the labels are OK on the 'fan' icon lists from the dock however...the difference there is that the font is smaller.
In theory it would be possible to change the font attributes in the dock app executable...but there's too many things that can go wrong with that!
Also I've noticed the glitch goes when I change the colour depth to greyscale in Universal Access prefs.
Ah, luxury. We had to make do with the humbler ZX80. It took half an hour to load any small game from cassette and four times out of five it would conk out in the last minutes of loading. Bad times. Even by today's standards the ZX81 is a pretty stylish piece of kit.
We threw out the ZX80 a couple of years ago with all the paraphernalia we bought for it. So stupid.
I very nearly got a secondhand ZX80 instead of the ZX81.
I remember the 'excitement' of typing in BASIC listings from magazines - before I had a 'datacorder' to save them, it was a painful experience.
Thing's were looking up when I got a 16K Rampack....but it didn't work, it was replaced with one that worked briefly and then caught fire! My third worked as long as you didn't nudge the computer and I'd got a tape recorder attached by then, so I could enjoy Defender and Flight Simulator...with their ace Ceefax graphics
