Well... I traded in the Fuze today. The first AT&T store was out of white iPhones (For a reason??? Hahaha)... I went to another AT&T store and they had one left... So I took it... I think I'll be more than happy with her...

I also hit up the apple store and picked up a Kensington Car charger/audio out... It's a great concept, but it has a lot of feedback, something my Belkin Charger/audio adaptor never had (But I lost it in the snow a few weeks ago )

Now I need to decide whether or not I want to use this thing naked... get an adhesive scratch gaurd or a full-on cover... I had no problems with the first phone... but this one doesn't seem as "hefty"...

yeah waiting a whole 2 days would be a really dumb thing to do.

My reasoning behind not waiting (And it'll help me sleep at night), is I have only 2 more weeks before I can trade in the Fuze. I thought I'd have the Fuze for a few years, until the 4g networks start rolling out Nationwide. But it wasn't for me.

I could have waited until Tuesday, but as we see in all companies, first run products almost have bugs and issues with them. I figured buying an iPhone 3g now, I'd be safe from seeing any major issues... Granted, you could always return a phone for warranty fixing... but you run the risk of having to deal with the horrible "Well that's just a characteristic of the phone" story...

You're just asking to get sucked into the never ending cycle if you wait. You're waiting for something that doesn't exist. So when January comes and goes will you wait until February? Until March? April? Yes, it's flat out stupid to wait because there is no product to wait for.

I believe you have 15 - 30 days to return it if Apple comes out with a refresh of the iPhone at MacWorld.

It seems it may only be a storage refresh (32 GB) and maybe another firmware update (push notification?).

If you don't have a lot media (music/videos/etc) then the 16 GB should be fine. You just might have to organize your syncing to get the media you want.

Not sure who would want to use an iPhone nano. Isn't the whole point of the iPhone that you have a decent size screen to view things like video off the net etc.? Have my doubts about this rumour too...

you are generalizing everyone. I personally have been waiting about a month now to see what Mac World may bring. If they announce a 32gb unit, I'll be the first one to line up for it. If there are no announcements I'll be getting a 16gb unit by weeks end.

Waiting a month to me was a no brainer.

But what if Apple announces a trade show of its own to follow MacWorld? Will you wait until that trade show? See my point is that you're waiting for something that hasn't even been rumored (save what people make up on this board), so you're just setting yourself up to wait indefinitely. Just buy the product that is available and enjoy it. You're just going to end up disappointing yourself, and when you finally do buy it, something else might come out and then you'll want that instead. You're just hurting yourself in the end. Buy it, enjoy it, then upgrade when you really need to.

Could the phrase "even the small talk will be big" be in reference to an iPhone Nano? It seems like Apple products have often been referenced using double entendre. Could small talk mean a small(er) iPhone?

I think the idea is a bit daft...but I could see some advertising agency thinking that to be quite the line.

No, that banner belongs to IDG, the Apple banners are still covered. I think that an iPhone Nano is possible. But very few possibilities except from the case manufacturers and clones that started to show up are we going to see an iPhone Nano soon.

It's probably just a reference to the fact that there won't be any big talk in future (from Adobe or Apple) since they're leaving. However, the small talk, just the regular developers and alike, still have some big things to say. It's most definitely not a reference to the nano, although I bet MW is vying that people make that connection to try to draw attention to the trade show.

Not that he has more credibility than anyone else, but an AT&T agent repeated that Qualcomm/Nano rumor to me today when I called about a billing issue.

We'll see...

Can't wait :) I originally didn't want their to be an iPhone update consuming the keynote but as I am now looking for such a variety of new products (including an iPhone), I can't wait :D

Well... I just got back from a long weekend of Snowboarding. Lucky for my my iPhone purchase is not regretted! No 32gb.... no super screen enchancements... nothing!

What I'm not happy about is the quality of that Keynote. What a joke. Phil wasn't given any material to work with. Instead, he had 90 minutes to make some "nifty" software updates seem worth buying. Unfortunately Facebook integration isn't enough for me to ditch iLife '08, and iWork templates doesn't help any either... Maybe they should've thrown in some Snow Leopard News or iPhone software 3.0 news to get my ears perked up.

Oh well...

Though no iPhone came to fruition...

Though no new iPhone came out, Apple I know usually does an iPhone announcement in June or so, so we will see what happens with the iPhone then. Maybe there will still be a possibility of an iPhone nano, or maybe they would rather have Steve announce something like this rather than Phil.

Keep in mind that they don't have to have a big event to update the iPhone. The 16GB iPhone was released at random last winter. February I believe? Let's hope the 32GB is the same way.
