Even if I was working from home, I would still wear my watch daily. Especially since I am still tracking fitness goals, sending/responding to text message, controlling music, and answering calls when the phone is out of reach, etc.

I still use mine the same, but then I have been mostly working from home over the last eight years.

On a serious note, the ‘stand’ notifications are really handy at home where it is easier to simply end up sitting at your desk all day. And activity tracking is useful for the same reason.

I also have fairly extensive home automation and being able to control that from your wrist is also handy (no pun intended) when you don’t want to talk to a HomePod...

The stand notifications I find completely to be either highly accurate and/or inaccurate. It’s never consistent though, which is why I completely ignore that feature. I’m not saying it’s not useful, but the calibration needs to be tweaked in the future for that specific application.

With the current state of affairs, a lot of us are working from home.
What I have noticed is that in the past 4 weeks or so, I hardly wear my Apple Watch, while at home.

Anyone else?

After all, I typically use my Apple Watch to not miss phone calls and notifications, while walking around the office building.
But, with being at home, I actually just do not see the need for my Apple Watch.

I am working from home too but find my Apple Watch is still worn. I can’t not have a watch on my wrist as I’ve worn a watch since I was about 5 years old.

I’m finding since working from home I have more time to exercise and am fitter than I’ve been in about 10 years. I have a treadmill in my garage and I’m running outside every other day. If anything since the lockdown, my AW is more useful than ever.

I used to run outside every day. Now I don’t.

But I do run on a home treadmill 6 days out of 7. Although I don’t use the Watch in the same way I used to (it has my music on it, I’d often refer to it for map info, etc), I do still use it.

I run on the treadmill for up to 2hrs, and so I still use it to talk to other members of my family and household. Or to text them - for instance, if I see the postman before they do and I don’t want to stop running, etc.

I’m not sure that it’s as accurate measuring my runs on the treadmill as it was for outdoor runs, but I feel certain it’s better than what the treadmill estimates (it’s a budget-end treadmill!).

So I guess I don’t use it as much, but it’s still on my wrist all day and it still gets used similar to before.

I wouldn’t be without it.

I still have meetings, so I still like to know when my next meeting is. I have other things on my calendar that I like to keep track of, too. Plus, it's usually easier to tap on the calendar complication to see what's upcoming on my calendar, than to look on my phone.

Plus I've got a 300+ day move streak going, and I think I've only missed two Stand days since the Apple Watch launch day (one because of the flu, one because of post-surgery). Why would I want to break those streaks?

Use is exactly the same. If I didn’t use a multi hundred dollar device like this everyday I’d sell it for something else I would! I put it on like underwear everyday.. which I hope everyone is still doing to a degree 🤣 Plus I've had fun collecting new bands of all colors, to switch up.
That's a strange way to wear a watch. ;)

No change in use here. I do think that the rumored pulse oximeter coming in S6 would make it much more useful at times like these :)

I use it the same.......working full time from home. Notifications continue to be very useful for meetings, IM or email when I am away from my desk, and also trying to complete my activity rings even at home.

I use my Watch more than ever these days. Timers, reminders, Siri, weather alerts, recording my outdoor hikes on AllTrails, and listening to podcasts (which I store on the Watch for autonomous play, very handy compared to fiddling with my phone during my hikes).

Granted, most of my expanded usage comes from upgrading to a Series 5 Watch from my original-issue Series 0, rather than from the COVID-19 circumstances per se. Still, it's a continuous joy to wear and use, and I'm finding new functionalities every week now that there's an increasingly robust app ecosystem.

I'm still using mine and still trying to get my daily exercise target, although I'm also not as bothered when I don't meet a certain goal. I have found I'm using the watch in different ways - now I'm working from home, I find having my calendar on the watch face is more useful as I don't have any visual cues that all my colleagues are in a meeting room and I'm not! It's actually quite useful to see my next meeting and get a tap on the wrist 3 minutes before it's about to start.

I'm also trying to cut back on phone usage, scrolling through endless news articles can get a bit much. So the watch helps in that regard.

I KNEW someone was going to catch that poor grammar. I was just too lazy to correct it!

One feature that I think would provoke me to want to use my watch more, or in least to wear it more frequently is when I Purchase my cars, one feature that’s a ‘must’ is remote start. I can tell you right now, I would pay a small fortune to have the Apple Watch remote start my car versus using the key fob.

To me, that would be the ultimate ‘Dick Tracy’ feature on my Apple Watch. I Gather that takes third-party cooperation from the developer, Apple and the vehicle manufacturer, but it’s something that I truly would appreciate personally.

With the Ford Sync app, I wonder if it can be used on the Apple Watch, to start a Ford car.

Alas, I digress...

There is an aftermarket remote start kit that works with the Apple Watch. You have to pay a yearly fee iirc to use it in the watch but it gets great reviews. I don’t remember the name but I think I saw it in Best Buy’s website.

Watch quit telling time.
About a week ago, my watch quit giving me the hour, minutes, seconds. It only give me what day it is. It’s Monday, then Tuesday and so on. Lately, it’s only giving me the month…….April. All the time, April. Is anyone else having this problem?

Why wouldn't someone want to wear their watch everyday, despite staying home so much? It really isn't that hard to put on when you wake up, and is still convenient even if you don't have a busy workflow anymore.

I've been wearing mine every day since I got it, I only taking it off to charge (which is when I shower, so I'd take it off either way). I love this watch.

I just bought the Nike edition space black, can’t wait

Closing all the rings isn’t as addictive as I once thought it once was, it’s a great tracker and tool to see your progress,But in the weightlifting aspect, it really doesn’t apply to me as much

Also...

I’m having to figure out new ways of managing without being in the gym, fortunately I have a personal ‘home gym’ synchronize in my spare bedroom. It works really well, but it’s certainly not the same as being in the gym, as I was into bodybuilding. Adapt and overcome.
Why doesn’t

why doesn’t it apply to lifting.? I was going to the gym lifting 6 days a week before and now lift at home 4 or 5 times a week. Your post about lifting and the watch not applying doesn’t make any sense.

It’s more like I never no where my iPhone is. Other than taking photos, it’s becoming my least used and least important device.

Thanks. I looked and couldn’t find reference of what you mentioned. If you come across that specific ‘kit‘, feel free to let me know what it is. A yearly fee for convenience, (assuming the reviews/stability is good), I wouldn’t mind paying for something that offers a quality experience to enhance the usage for the watch.
