I swear the entitlement some people have is hilarious. They’re a company and they don’t owe you anything. This whole idea that they should cater to you is misguided. This whole issue of not including a charging brick is an issue to a small group of people that seems bigger because you’re on a dedicated Apple fan site. Regular consumers will not care and buy it regardless or get annoyed, shrug it off, and still buy a brick.

It is what is, you can stop supporting them and talk with your wallet or just suck it up and deal with it because it’s not a significant enough issue.

Complaining works. They dropped the butterfly keyboards and we hear news of some ports coming back to the macbook.

Makes sense... but actually old iPhone users dont have to buy the new charging brick or cable(which means they have to sell their previous phone without the charging brick and cable). They can use the old ones, but it wouldnt fast charge. As for first time iPhone users yes they have to buy a USB-C charger. Its a plus minus situation.

Yeah they included the current cable for no reason other than that’s what more modern computers ship with.
Next time around they might skip that cable too.

You don’t have to buy anything. If you’re upgrading from a previous iPhone, that charger still works. If you’re upgrading from an android, there’s a good chance you already have a usb c charging brick.

I bought 2020 iPhone SE from Apple. It shipped with USB-A cable and USB-A charger. Care to explain how USB-C is the standard port today for all computer devices?

they could have at least included a USB-C to USB-A dongle.

Six years ago MacBook 12” USBC and listening to someone rant that likely spends not just $1K but also costs associated with a MacPro...?

Yeah and they changed the SE box contents to follow the same approach after the new phones launched in fall.

Newer devices in my experience tend to have the C type ports.

nobody said USB-C is the standard port today for all computer devices... its just that most flagship Android uses USB-C and USB-C has a bigger range of uses. USB-C can even be used for DisplayPort... which is better than HDMI as it can split to more than 2 screens.

Thunderbolt ports on new iPad Pros? Could make it’s way to other uses. Also proprietary and more expensive
