When you returned your phone to Apple.Com for the replacement phone, did you have to include all the accessories (i.e., usb power adapter, lightening to usb cable, Apple earpods, etc) that originally came with the phone? Thanks!

When you exchange an iPhone under warranty, only the phone is replaced.

Nope. Just the phone.

I got my wifes iphone replaced just as easy as i did mine. Hers ends in FH1C so it looks like they are all replaced.

One interesting thing i have found out today at the apple store is that the replacement phones are not refurbished. They are actually brand new phones made just for replacements.

I'm going tomorrow again. Did you claim a defect issue first. I had no joy returning mine at a different Apple store.

I told them that it is always on E and is hardly ever on 4G when my other phone is always on 4G and i told them i bought them at the same time.

I am assuming even the refurbished phones might come in the same packaging. I would imagine they go back to some domestic location and are checked for QA and are given the nice packaging treatment. I never bought a refurb phone but people who have bought can shed some light.

I asked them nicely, but they refused to replace it since it is bought in best buy ...

How does apple handle phones bought in BB?
Your best bet is to wait for some issue to happen on your phone, usually the sleep/wake button and then go for a trip to the apple store for replacement. If you bought your phone when it was released, most likely you will have this issue sometime during the first year as we have seen a lot of these complaints. That doesn't mean it will happen but you have a greater chance of happening or it might not happen during the first year. Even if it happens in the second year and if you used VISA or amex credit card during your purchase, they will extend the warranty for one more year. The big question is will you wait so long?

Just to be clear, I told them I moved from AT&T to tmobile and can they replace for aws frequency they would not because of best buy ...

yeah, again $50 discount hard to pass :cool: they were running heavy promo during Christmas holiday time frame. Hope LTE arrives soon. I have only issues near my work area, everywhere else I am good with it.

When did you have yours replaced? If they still have FH1C 6.1.2 replacement iPhones at my local Apple Store I'll go get mine replaced.

Lets Confirm T-Mobile/AWS iPhone 5 (A1428) Please Share your Model Numbers

Lets start putting the phone with the serials so people know which of the 6 alphanumerals to expect on the exchange.

These are for sure
FH1C = 16GB White
FH1H = 64GB White

This is just an assumption

FH19 - 16GB Black
FH1C - 16GB White
FH1D - 32GB Black
FH1F - 32GB White
FH1G - 64GB Black
FH1H - 64GB White

I got this from looking at the pattern of the two i was sure about above, please confirm if anyone has one of these other models.

I do not have a defective iPhone. What reasons are you guys giving for the return?

For the three phones i have exchanged i have told the truth and didn't use an excuse, but that most likely wont always work. I probably just got lucky on the three exchanges.

just b.s some reason like slow wifi, single drop and stuff.

depend on the genius bar you meet, mine was easy, i just ask her straight up for it. but i didn't ask for the firmware because i don't jailbreak my ip, so it really doesnt matter, but i doubt the genius bar know what firmware it is either without open the white box

Did they let you check out the model before doing the replacement? I wonder if I could ask for the firmware version before they complete the exchanged.

Also, what was your reason for the return.

I tried a BS reason saying it doesn't auto pick up wifi and it takes a long time to get data signal. The guy blamed T-Mobile coverage. I told them I have another iPhone and it gets 4G fine next to mine with no signal. So he ran a diagnostic and it came back with battery issues. So he offered to replace the battery, not the phone.

So I said if the battery needs to be replaced and I'm having antenna issues, why not just replace my phone? He said nope. :(

yea I got FH19 - black 16gb
What's your firmware?

That absolutely sucks that you get denied like that. There is some people that take their jobs too seriously. Battery issue? SMH.

For the firmware, I got the latest one 6.1.3. Right now, I care about staying on 4g everywhere I go than a jailbreak. Anyways, it's safe to assume that most Apple stores used up the last batch of the revised iphone 5 replacements w/ 6.1.2 firmware.
