Not sure how many on here spend time on sites like GSM Arena, or other sites that review phones in markets outside the US. Personally I enjoy reading reviews and looking at devices I can't quite get here in the states, but also notice a complete lack of individuality or brand identifying industrial design.

Way back in the day we had a game in the Macrumors Classic Forum where parts of a device were shown, and people guessed which classic mac the photo was taken of.

I am curious if folks here in the 'Alternatives™' section would enjoy a similar game. Not sure if it will catch on, or if we can develop a weekly cadence of posts, but be fun for others to post up shots (of various sources) and allow others to guess the device.

Updated Rules (Rules Modified to fit group input)
  1. 1 device should be posted at a time.
  2. Answers require make and Model.
  3. Bonus points if year of production is also guessed.
  4. Don't be a poo, using google (or other) , or any AI image search is clearly cheating!
  5. Any smartphone would be fair game
  6. Images must be no less than ¼ of a device
  7. Images that only show screen, or back with no identifiable marks should be avoided.
  8. The person that wins the round gets to take the reigns and post up the next 3 devices.
  9. Please avoid hijacking the winnings from the people playing, by posting your own phones to guess without having won the previous round.
  10. Hints can be posted, but no sooner than 24 hours after the photos are posted and guessing starts

Since I started the thread. I will post the first 3 devices to guess.

This thread may die, but figured I would give it a shot!

I'm thinking the first one is definitely a Samsung though I don't think it's the S25... iPhone 11 is also my guess on the last one..

1 S24 Ultra
3 iPhone 11 Pro

Rules would be simple
  1. 3 devices should be posted at a time.
  2. Answers require make and Model.
  3. Bonus points if year of production is also guessed, a later guess with all 3 overrides earlier guesses.
  4. Don't be a poo, using google (or other) , or any AI image search is clearly cheating!

2 looks like LG Prada Ex wife had one

Nobody has gotten all 3 correct so far, some guesses are spot on, but not sure how to proceed with this new thread.

Any suggestions on how we award points in the event someone doesn't guess all 3 correctly?

One of the devices have had zero correct guesses so far 😉 .

Maybe it should just be 1 phone at a time? Otherwise guesses will be contributed by multiple people instead of one person getting them all.
Agreed. I would recommend post 1, wait 24 hours, then name the winner or post the answer with a spoiler tag if no one got it. Keeps the thread engagement going (I hope).

Here's one for today:

Sorry I have NOT been on the forums for a bit, had some emergency that required more travel than I would have liked.

Moving this thread to a single phone guess, but still feel we should have a Phone + Year for bonus points.

The First correct guess was the iPhone 11 Pro Max made by @robvalentine who wins the first "official" round and is free to post up a phone for us to guess on.

Here are the full answers for Round 1
  1. 2026 ZTE blade 380 Max
  2. 2007 LG Prada
  3. 2019 iPhone 11 pro max
To keep the game rolling phone to phone, please try to refrain from posting other devices if you haven't produced a guess / won the previous round.

If @robvalentine does not wish to post phones to guess, the 2nd winning guess was from @hockeyfan81 who could proceed with posting phones if they wish..
