The samsungs are known to get a little brighter than the LGs. In that picture the contrast looks off, but I suspect that's just it being overexposed in the photo.

at this point im just considering not selling my 2011 15" anti glare and returning the retina :mad:

The one on the right is better at that setting. Look are the interior of the Galaxy. You can see more detail. Of course it's silly to make a call like this from that photo. It's like critiquing art from across a football field.

This is just a good example of how you need to calibrate these screens. Ill bet a good percentage of all these screen issues is this.

They look identical, the one on the left is brighter and is overexposing the image. The OP should take the pic again, but this time use trueHDR app so they will both be the same exposure.

I would just get it exchanged again my past two rMBPs have been Samsung screens so I think the Samsung screens are going to be more common to get. And again my neither of them have been unable to reproduce the ghosting issue.

Get an exchange, shipping is faster now anyways. Just keep trying for the Samsung Screen.

so i took a pic, tis hard to see but the samsung screen is alot warmer then the LG

i guess different contrast?

i havent noticed this ghosting or image retenttion some other users are bsing about but is the samsung better?

i kenw this may happen wen i exchanged it for a 2.6ghz model over my original 2.3ghz model that came with the samsung screen

thoughts?

samsung left

LG right

I say the LG panel Retina one looks alot better because I see more detail and the BLACK is alot deeper!!

how is the shadow detail compared between the two because i find the shadow detail on my LG rMBP to be not the greatest.

My second Samsung was brighter than my first. Enough of a difference that I went, "Wow, now this is a display that's impressing me." So it's not really just Samsung vs LG.

just received my 15" rMBP

has LG panel

and i love it, black is really dark black vs Samsung black on my friend's rMBP

mine looks more accurate when it comes to editing pictures and watching videos

My Samsung vs LG opinion:

Went through 5 samsung screens, now got an LG screen.

My samsung screens mostly got two problems, backlight bleeding in the corners and yellow bands.

The LG screen that I got now has a more clearer, crispier white, and therefore less yellowing. This is especially nice if you use the computer mostly for writing and reading (word and pdf), a little bit easier on the eyes.

I also think the display is a little bit more sharper. Looking at photo's I seem to get more detail out of it.

Saying this the samsung screen also has important pro's. The screen is a bit more brighter, and also seems to have a native higher contrast, therefore looking more "lively".

Also the black is more uniform on a samsung. Although it is difficult to get one without (or with evenly spread) lightbleed, if you get one it's perfect. Although I think the LG manufacturing process is more consistent, they use a different filter in the panel which always gives a greener look on the left side on the display, and more red on the right side. When u got a good samsung screen, the black is perfect.

Saying all this I think the best screen for me is a samsung, but only with minimal yellowing and backlight bleeding. But it seems it's pretty hard to get one of those.

That's why I decided to settle with my LG screen which has no dead pixels, minimal yellowing and pretty evenly spread backlight bleeding. The green and red tint on black screens is annoying though.

A little bit weird to say this but I got a feeling this whole screen exchange thing took a bad effect on my stress level and mental health. It became somewhat of an obsession to get the perfect screen. I decided to give up and focus on other things in life.

Whoever Apple failed me big time at giving me the product experience I was looking for buying this thing.
