I'm on Cyanogenmod so have the stock Google browser, which I'm happy with. Incognito mode, dark/night mode, etc are all very nice. But you can download whatever browser you want, Chrome, Firefox, Dolphin, etc.

16gb though? If you have loads of apps thats not enough
especially when you consider that its not actually 16gb...its like 12 or 11gb
How many apps you thinking of having! Apps in general are pretty small.
At the end of the day, its your decision. Do whats best for you.
Honestly, the UI isn't that bad, and that's coming from someone who hates Touchwiz. Nearly everything I hated about LG's UI had the option of being disabled or turned off. What was surprising to me about the plastic is that it doesn't feel crappy; I mean yeah it has that slippery feel, but the phone has such good ergonomics that it doesn't even really matter, and again, this is coming from someone who hated the plastic on the S4.
I spent some more time playing with the G2 Friday night. The speed swiping through the home screens is amazing. It is easily faster than the GS4, Note 3 and HTC One. It's quite a nice phone.

It really is an amazing phone and it's only going to get better in the coming weeks. KitKat ROM's should be out for the G2 in a week or two since it's nearly the same phone as the Nexus 5.
Completely agree. I just put CM10.2 on my G2 and the speed, stability and ESPECIALLY battery life, is crazy. It's like a Nexus on steroids. I'm easily managing 6+ hours of screen-on time with 20+ hours off the charger (in the screenshot below I only got 19.5 hours since I used navigation which kills the battery). Also, since the G2 is essentially the Nexus 5, KitKat ROM's should be out within a week or two (same situation happened with the Nexus 4 and Optimus G... nearly the same phone, so it got newer builds of Android before other phones).
Check out these crazy screenshots... this is with 1 hour of navigation use as well and a mix of LTE + Wifi. Brightness varied between 10%-80% as the day progressed. Amazing battery life, I couldn't ask for anything more.
Is there any apps you recommend that helps with android such as saving battery etc...?

No essential apps for me. Unlike previous android phones ive had, the G2 seems to perform brilliantly straight out of the box.

How do you set photos to automatically go to drop box?
Do you have to install drop box on your laptop or just your phone?
damn the g2 seems cool. just ordered a n5 so ill have to see if i like it. what do u guys think about the xperia z1

To upload them to Dropbox, you just need it on the phone.
To get them back down to the laptop, you need Dropbox on that as well.
I don't use any at all, but I think a lot has to do with stock Android; it's just so much less resource-intensive than an manufacturer skin, which causes battery life to be significantly better. With the same usage on a stock LG ROM there were always wakelocks here and there and while battery life was amazing even on the stock LG ROM, it's significantly better with a stock Android ROM like CyanogenMod.

Download the app and go to settings and turn on camera upload. It automatically throws everything into dropbox.
This is a great phone and development has really picked up since KitKat's release. There is now a stable build of CM10.2 (Jellybean) available and there are multiple KitKat ROM's. Developers have even been able to port the stock LG camera app to the AOSP ROM's like CyanogenMod, AOKP, Paranoid Android, etc., so that you don't have to use the crappy stock Android camera app. I've never really understood why this phone isn't more popular. LG's UI, while similar to Touchwiz, performs MUCH better with no lag. It's also a lot more customizable. There are tons of ROM's, mods, etc. that can be loaded on the device, and battery life is top-notch, even beating out the Note 3.
The G2, Moto X, and Nexus 5, are the best phones that you can get right now. You can't go wrong with either of these, and they're all much better than the Galaxy S4 and HTC One.
Looks like I'm coming back to my trusty G2. Returned mine after experiencing horrible GPS issues (rendered navigation useless) and ended up giving the Moto X and Note 3 a shot in the meantime. Honestly would've kept the Moto X if I wasn't able to get such an amazing deal on the white Verizon G2, but that's another story. I'm glad to be back and am excited to see that CM10.2 is now released as stable along with developers successfully porting over the LG camera app to AOSP/CM ROM's. My white G2 will be here Thursday and the first thing I'll be doing is rooting it, modding it, and putting a ROM on it. 🙂
How's yours holding up? I'm really hoping this new G2 doesn't have GPS issues like the last one, as that was pretty much my only real problem with the phone.

I sold mine a while ago. It's a phenomenal phone and also having owned the Nexus 5 I think I would choose the G2 over that ONLY if the G2 didn't have the rear placed buttons, which eventually wore me out. I was hoping the Nexus 5 would have been a G2 without rear buttons, but it was different enough to push me away.
What does all this rooting mean lol?!?
Is that something I have to do or is it optional? This is my first android phone you see...so no nothing about all these things!!!!
