If you detach the monitor stand attachment on the back of the monitor, it should have the model number listed.I just picked up a used LG 5K which claims to be the 27MD5KL-B and is supposedly 3 years old. Software-wise, is there an away to confirm my model? Display just says LG UltraFine and System Information also just says LG UltraFine. Any other ways to identify it?

Thanks. What’s the issue exactly?Latest version has been pretty good for me. Disclaimer this is for US stock. I do still have the sleep issue where i have to unplug replug
Great. I ordered the 27MD5KL-B. Do you if there is a difference with the 27MD5KL?I have not had any problems with mine which I got a couple of years ago - 27MD5KL - except for a tendancy for it to turn back on much brighter than I prefer it but this seems to be a software issue as this varies with different versions of MacOS and is a relatively minor issue.
No I don't know but my guess is that yours is simply a slightly later model than mineGreat. I ordered the 27MD5KL-B. Do you if there is a difference with the 27MD5KL?
occasionally when waking from sleep the monitor wont activate which is a prob since the macbook itself is in clamshell on the left side of my desk. Only fix is the wake by opening the laptop and manual unplugging and replugging the tb cableThanks. What’s the issue exactly?

Hello Guys,
I ordered the LG Ultrafine 5K with article number 27MD5KL-B. Today the store I bought it from contacted me saying that particular model is out of stock and they have a newer version in stock which is the 27MD5KLP-B.
Does anyone know what's the difference?!
Yes apparently is the new article number for the Ultrafine 5k. I’m curious to know if anything has changed or has been fixed since this monitor has suffered from a lot of issues.27" UltraFine™ 5K Monitor - 27MD5KLP-B | LG UK

The only difference I see is they are now advertising it as 1100:1 contrast ratio instead of 1200:1. The updated website shows 1100:1 too. I wonder if it's actually less or if it's just more accurate to the true number.Found this comparison between all the LG Ultrafine 5K displays ever released. Apparently the "LP" one is a new release from this year. Only difference that I could find is the contrast and the power consumption in sleep mode, so maybe it solves the issues that some people are experiencing.

Hmm interesting! I'll be able to compare it with an iMac 27". The sleep consumption is also higher in the newer modelThe only difference I see is they are now advertising it as 1100:1 contrast ratio instead of 1200:1. The updated website shows 1100:1 too. Any luck finding the EU cable? I just picked up my own 22" Ultrafine display, but it only came with a UK power cable and a generic one just doesn't look right. I know that since I scored it for about €70 on FB Marketplace in fantastic condition, with the box and everything included I shouldn't really complain, but my OCD is stronger. I wonder if perhaps LG could sell it as a spare part directly...?Ultrafine 4k owner here. Does anyone have a version of either 4k or 5k with the EU power cable? I suspect it might be the same as the 4k on the 5k. If you do have it, could you please confirm it's the same based on the information below and post the manufacturer and the model number so I could find it and buy it somewhere. I could only find standard shaped power cables from ebay and Amazon. A swap within Europe could also be an option. That's of course if the power cables of these monitors are the same.
Mine is the UK version, it looks like this and is about 1.8m long. The other end is the standard UK plug, manufacturer is Longwell.

Why not pick up a power strip that is universal?Any luck finding the EU cable? This is the KLP? I don't supposed you can see/tell if the USB-C/Thunderbolt connectors at the back are "more secure" than the original KA or KL-B? I think some of the older revisions (at least the KL-B?) seems to suffer with weak USB-C soldering joints.Received the LG Ultrafine 5K for my new M2 Ultra. This is my second Ultrafine. I initially had the first model from 2016 which suffered from burn in and purple tint.
The display is absolutely amazing and looks identical to the iMac 27”.
Colors calibration looks the same and there is probably has a touch more contrast in favor of the LG.
The LG has a warmer tone compared to the iMac and MacBook Pro 16”, which I personally like it more. Glad LG solved all the display issues.
I’ll miss the esthetics of the iMac but I’m glad I have chosen this over the Studio Display which was 1300€ MORE expensive.
I honestly prefer to wait and save some extra cash to get the Apple XDR which next to the Studio Display is like night and day.
