Verizon has, at least at the end of 2010, LTE coverage in the 38 Super Bowl cities, I believe. Verizon hopes to get LTE coverage across the nation by the end of 2013.

With an eligible upgrade, I was out the door for $53. The monthly fee is the same for 4G as 3G. The only downside was I had to give up my (5.5 yr old dating back to 2.5G) unlimited data plan when moving up to 4G and get on one of the capped plans (5GB or 10GB).

The coverage is in most of the places I need it to be for now, but more will always be better.
