What bulk? This is the most amazing, slimmest water-proof case on the market and it is worth its price tag. The amount of R&D that went into this case is the main reason why it costs $70.

Here's new pics of the upgraded white front i received about 2 weeks ago. Notice the darker trim and bumpers to protect the silent switch. I've had no issues with this front, it works perfectly and the color is awesome, it's like a gunmetal. That color for the trim is supposedly how all the new ones will come including the pink. I have to say i love this company they fricken rule!

Warranty

The case looks great, but the warranty states it will only replace the case if it is defective. So basically if you choose to swim with this case as advertised, and the case turns out to be defective; Life Proof will only replace the case. And I hope you have more then an Apple Iplan because they will not cover water damage. I think $70 is to much to pay for a case that will not cover your phone if it is defective.. just my 2 cents. (I registered solely for the post, if however my information is wrong please correct me).

You aren't wrong, but should note that the implication is. There are no cases that will replace the phone if it damaged while using their product. Most notably, the other two mainstream heavy duty cases - Otterbox Defender and the Griffin Survivor - do not.

Griffin Survivor Warranty
Otterbox Defender Warranty

Again, what you said isn't wrong, but since there are no warranty plans for cases out there - at least that I know of - that will cover the iPhone if damaged in use, that particular "issue" with the LifeProof is consistent among all cases.

It is absolutely worth mentioning though for folks who don't read up on that and assume. Thanks for pointing it out, and welcome to MacRumors!

The same holds true for many other 'waterproof' device cases. E.g., I bought a high end waterproof case for my DSLR. Their warranty doesn't cover water damage to my DSLR. There is no way they could verify the case is being used correctly. What would keep an unscrupulous user from simply dunking their camera in water and then asking the case manufacturer to replace it?

I got mine for 40,decided to just keep it..still works even with my best skin ever on my phone..If i ever need it ill be glad i have it. Dropped the phone today at the bar and the case took the drop. So it already paid itself off. Now just need to find a bumper style case.

Ya seems like they are completely washing there hands free of it once you buy it which isnt what i want for a case that is "waterproof"

Ok the screen seems to be getting better. One last question: how do you dry your lifeproof? I noticed water gets in the seams (not past the o-ring) and slowly comes out over time. How can I speed up the process?

Going back!

So, mine is going back, I can't stand the feel on the screen, I just hate the "click" felling, and the "rainbow" drives me crazy! Oh, and all the raced bubbles on the screen are distracting too...

I guess I might just go back to otterbox, not waterproof, but great protection...

Two iPhone 4's with Otterbox Defenders for the past year. My wife complained hers attracted lint and that the rubber "grabbed" when removing from the slot in her purse.

The new Otterbox Defender cases appear to have a new type of silicone. It isn't as "tacky" as my 3GS case and lint/dust is no longer a problem.

The integrated screen protector is also much better than the one on my 3GS case. It doesn't have a greasy film, there is no space between the display and the protector and it looks great.

Returned mine as well, I did like the case itself as well as the concept/protection, but typing on it drove me nuts. The middle was fine, but anything toward the edges I had to press 2-3 times...and that click was maddening as well.

I was actually looking at cases for my iPhone 4S and a Best Buy sales associate suggested this to me. It's actually very slim. I was very surprised. The sales associate demo'd the case on her iPhone. Everything is sealed tight. The only thing I saw her struggle with is making sure the front and back piece snap shut. It seemed it was difficult to get it to snap into place as she made a few attempts. Its expensive - $79.95. LifeProof advertises the case as shockproof. I would never chance using it underwater, especially when there's no guarantee. I hope it does protect the phone from accidental drops.

All the buttons seems to align with the case and work well. The only thing I'm concerned with is, as someone pointed above, is typing on the keyboard.

Edit:

Also, there are these ridges that go around the inside of the rear case. After just a few mins, she removed her phone and it left impressions on her shield she used to protect her phone. So if you don't have a shield, not sure if the edges on the iPhone will wear down. Since it's made of glass, maybe not, but I can see permanent marks that can never be buffed out. It seems the ridges are made of very strong plastic that will press hard onto the backside of the iPhone. This was a deal breaker for me. I was almost sold on it until I saw these impression marks. It would have been the perfect case if not for this IMO.

The instructions strictly say: do not use with shields. That is why. The case is made specifically for the iPhone with no wiggle room. Also, my iPhone's glass is mark free after a day and a drop.

I use mine with a shield on the front of the iphone. I don't have any marks at all on the shield.
