The Best Buy's by my suck. I bet they get the 5 cases in August..... maybe.

These have now been appearing in Best Buy stores here in North Florida as of yesterday, but they've been selling very quickly. I have mine now only due to looking up the SKU # on the store's online site late Monday night and ordering for an in-store pick up for pick up today. By the time I had gotten to the store to pick up my case around 7pm, they no longer had any left for sale.

Many people are getting these but very little discussion. Tell us what you think???

Seems like a real cheap POS ! The back shell is so thin and curved like a banana. I have not put the case on my phone yet but this is what I think just looking at it for a couple of minutes.

I don't have a LifeProof yet... I was in Group A and got my email link at 12:24pm EST. I come from using an Otterbox defender where I had to replace the case every 2-3 months because the silicone was going bad. Excellent warranty and support as they always sent me a replacement part. However, I want a case that can handle a little drop and some drool or little wet fingers... as well as one that isn't so big and bulky that shows off that sleek profile of the iPhone. Just waiting on my order to get here... Probably another week in the waiting for shipping :(.

For those saying the LifeProof case is not durable, how can they advertise that military grade certification? Wouldn't that mean someone out there would start a class action lawsuit? I've seen videos of life proof and normal people that have abused the case and no damage has come to their iPhone 4/4S. Of course there are those special exceptions that will happen, but surely with so much testing to a military grade spec, the case is durable.

For those having trouble with typing with the case on, it has been an issue with "pillowing" where there is an air gap between the screen protector and the glass digitizer. Some say they have to suck the air out or try to get the air out before the case is closed. LifeProof has a FAQ about it ( http://www.lifeproof.com/support/knowledge-base/solution/2184 ) where they say the following:
Air normally gets trapped in when you close the case. Press the front of the case firmly against your chest with the palm of your hand against the back of the case to squeeze the air out. This should fix the problem.

It usually takes about a week for the case and screen to really settle in becoming the flattest possible. Your screen should be very tactile and responsive but it is normal for there to be a slight gap near the home button

I'm not having fun typing in this case. Any experienced owners with advice?

I've been texting a friend of mine with this case freshly on and I haven't had an issue with it accurately sensing touch on my end. Hell I didn't even bother removing the Zagg shield I had on before installing the case and I can still use the phone business as usual.

Hmm maybe a screen protector would help get rid of the space for air between the case's screen and the phone..?

Maybe that is what is going on in my experience since I'm not experiencing some of the issues other people are regarding the screen. Although I wouldn't recommend just getting one of those expensive screen protectors just because..

If you need the protection because of your work or because you are clumsy get this case. Otherwise skip it and get the PowerSupport Air jacket and screen protector.

The lifeproof is a decent case(passed the water test) but it makes the phone bulky and typing on it kind of sucks. But I'll keep it as its the only option that can be kept in the case and attached to an armband(when it becomes available) without taking the phone out.

Everything fits perfect no gaps or other discrepancies that I have noted. Compared to my wife's 4s LP case is superior. As far as weight I really did not feel a difference.

I've never seen a lifeproof case but I am considering getting one for my iphone 5. How thick is the screen protector? Does it really offer much protection if dropped?

Just remember if you keep a screen protector on you could ruin your phone using it underwater.

Out of curiosity, why is this?

Cause even adding a tiny MM(millimeter) of thickness to the phone can screw up the waterproof aspect of the case and might cause it to leak around the edges or corners because it might not be closed tightly around the phone, even though you think it's secure. Case was molded to fit perfectly with just the phone.
