LifeProof is impressive with its water-proof features without any negative effect on the sounds transmit,Amazing!Hope it will release another one for the next G iPhone...

I actually just picked up a second one of these. Had been using the black one, but decided I wanted the white since I have a white phone. Granted I don't use the case for anything too intense, but I do love being able to man-handle the thing and toss it in my purse without a care, etc.

Did the air bubble ever go away? I couldn't get used to the clacking sound while typing so I returned after only a day or two.

I think that you will find that our current cases don't have any issues with sound quality! I personally have no problems whatsoever and everyone tells me I sound crystal clear. We have really come a long ways from when we first released. -Dusty, Social Media Manager.

I just bought your case a few weeks ago. The only reason you're complementing it is because you work for them. The sound quality of my calls is complained about to every person I talk to. If I pay $85 for a stupid case then I would almost expect it to improve the sound quality. This case is great, it just needs headphone jack improvements and sound quality improvements. Then it would be perfect. PLEASE IMPROVE and don't be like Microsoft and release your things before you realize the improvements you can make.

I don't get any complaints about call quality and I have had my lifeproof case on since November. I use my phone for my personal life and both of my jobs (no landline or office phones) and I've yet to have any kind of issue.

Grille Fault

On my recently purchased lifeproof 4s case I have noticed that there is a small grille covering the inside of the goretex seal on my right hand lower speaker; however there is not a grille covering the left seal. Is this normal? The case has passed the water test however I am worried about how long this will last. Has anyone else experienced the same problem? If so what did you do?

I find it strange the Lifeproof rep hasn't responded to this thread in a long time.

I tried out the LifeProof case for about a week. Returned the first one do to it failing the water test. The second one passed the water test. But in the end I returned it.

My only problem I had was it made people sound cracked up when I was on the phone. I had with both I tried. I sounded fine to them. I am one of these that talk a lot on the phone and the sound of the callers matter to me. Other then that I felt it was a good case. In the end it may be me. Others say they have no problems with sound.

If you are thinking of buying one I would buy it a chain store like Best Buy. Then if it does not work for you, it will be easy to return.

Why do you find this odd?

The case is a legitimate case that many people, including me,bmy wife, and many of my coworkers, all swear by. It has gotten me through some very rough times, such as this past Friday night at the Linkin Park concert where it was a torrential downpour and we were outside in the rain for the concert.

No product is perfect, however, there is quite a large amount of people who have zero issues with this case. I am going on almost one full year with this case.

got the wife one of these back in janurary and she's loved it. Just finished cleaning the thing inside and out and was trying to get rid of a mark on the screen. It looks as though something is trapped between the screen and the protector underneath. She didn't notice it but it would drive me nuts if i used it every day

Hi Dusty
Sorry but I have the latest gen lifeproof case, (for iphone 4s) and while I LOVE the case an would wholeheartedly recommend it, there is a DEFINITE compromise in call quality, most people tell me i sound strange.
My wife has the case also, and its the same with hers.
It's a compromise I'm willing to make though, and if you open the charging hatch it makes a definite improvement.

I agree with the "pillow effect" between the case screen and actual phone screen. I don't know how anybody can stand that, honestly.

Strange that people are reporting different issues, I don't have any pillow effect, bubbles, reflection probs etc, neither does my wife, but we both have call quality issues I.e people moan they can't hear us

Just found another major issue, can't take a photo or video with flash!! It reflects back and makes the image white. Life book, have you guys even used your own product??

I see these posts and am a bit confused because my lifeproof case has turned out to be more than I expected. I was expecting to and expected to live with semsitivity issues. I was also ready for a muffeled sound from the ear piece and speaker but have been extremely happy with my case. With protection like this you should expect some sort of trade off and with the exception or 3rd party chargers and headphones needing adapters (Apple products work fine) to use things like sound docks and right angle head phone connections. I know that my case has sold many others to friends, colleagues and aquaintences. If you need protection and water proof (note to otter box Proof not resistant) at that do not shy away. get your case and follw the instructrions that come with it and don't look back. just my 2 cents.

Hmm, me thinks you might be a lifeproof employee....
I have this case, the newest one on an iphone4s, and the sound quality is not a slight trade off, it's unbearable, you cannot hold a proper conversation unless you open the charging door, which is a pain, and even then still muffled but not quite as bad.

Their support page when you leave an email message, tells you to blow into the case, this achieved little or nothing on both cases. Their email form doesn't work, can't get an email to them...
The case cannot be used for taking vid or pics with flash - that's a real flaw!!
It's good as a case as long as you don't actually want to use your iPhone.....
I would say to be fair that I have no probs with a space under the screen, and its no harder to type or use the screen than it is without the case

I can see this thread has gone on for a while, and for good reason.

I got a Lifeproof case for my iPhone 4S, and got the belt clip, arm band, and bike clip. There is simply no other system out there that is that versatile. The case also feels great in my hands, and it much less bulky than the Otterbox.

HOWEVER, there is a price for all that. I had a heck of a time finding headphone adapters to use (I have the screw in one for exercise, but I needed some non-waterproof ones for use at the office, in the car, at home, etc), and I had to modify them with a knife to get them to fit. Great. I had to retire one oversized and cheaply built car adapter, but that was probably for the better anyways.

Then, I found that the sound quality pretty much sucks. I'm not sure how I feel about this. I don't make many phone calls, and if I want to talk for a while at home, I'll just use the headphones.

Lastly, the headphone cover is not captive, which is just stupid design, and there should at least be an option to make it somehow captive so that it's always there when needed.

What I'm struggling with is that as imperfect as the Lifeproof is, no other company makes a case that has a fantastic belt clip, and a custom designed armband. The bike mount is a bonus. I'm also struggling with the fact that this is the only waterproof case out there.

Otterbox has a good belt clip, and it's getting less bulky with the new design starting with the iPhone 5, but it's not waterproof, and there is no arm band option.

As much as I like certain features of this system, whenever the 4S needs an upgrade (i.e. when I need LTE), it's going to be a really, really hard sell to buy another one of these things, if it's even available for the phone I get (I might switch back to Android).

Sorry so long to reply to this but I never saw it. I am not an employee of or in the retail of any electronics or accessories. I have now had my iPhone 4S in a life proof case since the day I got it in the fall of 2011. I am hard on my own electronics, work conditions and outdoor hobies in and on the water. I can say the ony issue I have with the company is the pricing which I find hi. I have found no issues with costomer service, which when I broke the charging door off, they replaced with a new case. when I get my next iPhone it to will be in a lifeproof case. I have taken amazing pictures with the camera. With and without the flash! Good luck with the case of your choice. And make sure you buy the Apple Care option!

G'day all ,new to this .the seal on my charging port fell out of my 4s life proof case can anyone tell me if the seal goes in with the raised section to the phone or the flat cheers
