Looks good but that bubbling on the button is going to drive me crazy lol. How is the sound quality in the case?

It's slightly worse than before but nothing horrid, IMO. What really gets to me is if you hold the case while playing music. The back vibrates and that just weirds me out.

----------

Ok now where talking lol. How does the control centre work? What about the back do you reckon it will scratch easily?
I shaved some of the plastic off around the end of my griffin car charger to get it to fit. Works fine. it says somewhere on their site will only work with Apple lightening cables.

Control center worked fine for most of the evening, and then when I got off work and went to my car I had trouble for a little bit. Shouldn't be a problem for the most part though.

The back COULD scratch easily if it's made out of the same plastic as say, the Poetic ThinShell in clear. It's not likely though as the back is recessed.

The Spigen cable also works just fine.

Im gonna take a guess and say the tech armor cables won't fit...? Anyone have any issue with other lifeproof cases and this cable?

If it's as big as Amazons basic lightning cable, then no it won't fit.

That I don't know; haven't seen their cables. I'll babe to do some more research. In the meantime of anyone has had any experience with lifeproof cases vs tech armor / amazon basic lightning cables please post up.

I didn't have any problems with TouchID. Well, no more problems than before at least. You can see where there's a membrane over the TouchID home button and the "pillowing" around it. I could NOT live with a built in screen protector if it was that bad most of the time. There's also a similar membrane over the flash LEDs but not the camera lens itself. Edited 30 minutes later: having a bit more trouble with TouchID...

Thanks for the review:) I'm using the original Nuud case for the iPhone 5 with my 5S right now, so I'm not using TouchID at all. I'm wondering if you try to re-train it with the case on if that would help. The pillowing effect doesn't look great, but I think I can live with it for TouchID to work.

I believe that the screen protector on the Fre cases is made from a different material than what's covering the home button on this case and that works a bit better as a screen protector, but it's still not idea. I definitely prefer the uncovered screen on the Nuud case.

Also didn't expect the silent switch to be reversed (down for ringer and up for silent) but I guess it makes sense.

Yeah, that takes a little getting used to, but it's not a problem after a while.

Definitely wouldn't buy it a full price, unless a watertight case is absolutely necessary. But at $110 for the case, car mount, and armband, it's not such a bad deal.

There are definitely some compromises to using a waterproof case. I've been using the lifeproof cases since my iPhone 4 and I love the convenience... I can take the phone in the pool with me when I'm on call and I don't have to worry about my phone out in the rain and if the phone gets dirty or something spills on it then I can just take it to the sink and wash it off. But waterproof cases aren't for everyone.

And WTF the amazon basic lightning cables will not work with it. The ATT car charger cable BETTER work with it.

The iPhone 5 cases are actually much better as far as third party cables than the iPhone 4/4S cases were. The iPhone 4/4S cases pretty much wouldn't take any cable but an original apple cable... and even the apple cable barely fit. With the 5/5S cases they've made the opening a bit larger than the apple cable, but clearly not large enough for all third party cables. Unfortunately I'm not sure they could make it much larger and still allow it to have a watertight seal without increasing the thickness of the case.

It's hard to tell from the pictures, but it looks like the bezel around screen slopes a bit more than the bezel on the iPhone 5 Nuud case and I'm sure that's to help with the control center. It's possible to activate the control center reliably with the iPhone 5 case, but it's not as easy as it should be. Hopefully this helps

The back on my iPhone 5 Nuud case is still in good shape even after 5 or 6 months. There are definitely a few marks and light scratches if you look in the right light, but they're not very noticeable. I keep my phone in the belt holster, so I think that helps to keep it in good shape too. If you put the phone in a purse or a pocket with keys and such then it might get scratched more easily.

One thing that IS annoying is if you're using your phone on a table. Since the back is all hard plastic there's no friction to stop the phone from sliding around the table as you're using it. Minor gripe. But yeah, I really am liking this case, for what it's worth.

I figured that was going to be an issue. I might get some clear silicone and just attach that onto the back and make it as flush as possibly.

Some of these things are not happening with the new 5S Fre.

1. No pillow on home button, feels as good as without.
2. Control centre works perfect as their is no hard plastic top and bottom.
3. doesn't slide on a table for me.
4. No scratches on the back.
5. Touch ID works the same.

Screen protector sits flat, no pillowing or rainbow.

If your cable won't fit just get a knife and shave off some of the plastic around the connector. Worked for me.

Lifeproof Nuud for 5s

Finally received mine today and also water tested it.

Below are some of my findings:

--------------

Update 12/7/13:

The screen side of the case has a nice solid grip as the front is rubberish on the sides. The rear however does slide around when phone is places screen side up.

--------------

1) Sound quality isn't bad especially for a waterproof case (I have never had previous versions.

2) Command center is defienitly a little more difficult to get at but still works.

3) The membrane over the flash does sit flat it kinda bubbles and mine actually has an indenting in the bubble that I couldn't push out. I think Lifeproof should have just left this with the hard plastic or glass that they used previously as I think this will not be good if the membrane sustains a puncture.

4) Sleep wake button doesn't have much tactical feedback.

I will update with more findings as I run into them but for now the goodies :)

Wow just got mine and I love it, I never thought I would use a case other than apples but I was wrong.

Thanks for the pictures and your review. Unfortunately mine is still showing "pending fulfillment" and I haven't gotten any shipping notifications yet.

As far as the flash membrane goes, though, I think it's always been a membrane and not glass. They use optical glass over the camera lens, but I remember that even with my iPhone 5 case several months ago I was trying to clean the camera and flash windows with a q-tip and I was a bit surprised that the flash had a flexible membrane and I was afraid I had damaged it a bit.
