Just ordered two brushed aluminums with backs and no cords for my iPhone 5 and iPad Mini. Site said 7-10 days for it to ship for the brushed, so ill let you guys know how they work.

Got my Lightning Dock today. Ordered base and cable. It's very cool! Very nicely made. Glad I ordered it.
Got an email yesterday (Monday) that they would be sending it out with in a week and if they don't will issue a refund.....this is my 2nd email updating me
Don't hold you breath. The company has bogus customer support. Finally got refund after they claimed production delays. This company is a sinking ship.

All...these are canned emails. I have only heard of one dock being shipped. I ordered in early Oct and got same emails then they just refunded cause I asked to many questions. Get your money back.

Hello for those of you interested I received a shipping notice today for the black dock no cord or back plate which I ordered on Oct 30th.
Still don't have mine. At this point, it will be Christmas for me if I receive it. I did receive an email that I should have received it already or it will be there shortly but that was about a week ago. Frustrating. Kind of feels like a KickStarter project. Needless to say I'm not going to order anything else from them ever again.
Shipped/refund
So got about 2 emails from the company today. 1st was saying a refund has been issued for $20 dollars because they didn't include a lightning to USB cable, I didn't even know I was suppose to get one, the 2nd email was a shipped notification, should get here next week (Tuesday the 27th). Ordered black dock with back support.

I'm not happy with the product. The shipping packaging they use is for media mail and it comes in a small box. After almost 2 months, it came with a noticeable chip. Their quality control must be horrible. I emailed and asked either for a replacement (if it can be done in 2 weeks) or a refund. Almost $50 and 2 months later, they can't deliver the product I wanted.
Mine is coming Tuesday. It's a surprisingly quick turn around considering all the negative feedback I've heard about their shipping.
I'll let you know what I think of the docks once I get them. Pics too.

Lightning Dock Came This Afternoon
My order came today--two brushed aluminum dock with backs, sans cables since I'm using my own.
All in all I am very satisfied with the lightning docks. I could care less about the packaging being subpar. It's the actual product that I'm worried about working and coming in excellent condition. They did not disappoint and I'm glad I took the chance.

it looks fine for a desktop but i need a dock which is very small and simple like the Apple iPhone 4 dock, something i carry around with me.
Howdo you find em for plugging unplugging? Does the cord slip?
Also, how long did your order take to arrive after you placed the order?
You need to remove it with two hands, which is perfectly fine with me. It sits nice and secure on the dock itself with no cord slippage at all.
I ordered the docks on the 14th of November and received it today. Thirteen days is not too terrible at all. I wasn't expecting it until December, honestly.
Pleasant surprises all around.
Can we dock iPad mini without back support? Is it gonna work on iPad Mini with folio case?
I ordered one last weekend. I hope that I will get it before mid December!
Ah OK, I thought you meant in your pocket. Yeah I don't think we'll see anything as tiny as Apples iPhone 4/4S dock.
