HOLY SMOKES! The new lightning adapter = $35!!

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!
That's just.....INSANE

Lightning to 30-pin Adapter

Use this intelligent and ultracompact adapter to connect your 30-pin accessories to devices featuring the Lightning connector.

$35.00 CDN

That's ridiculous. Foisting a new proprietary connector and then charging $35 for compatibility. I like the Lightning connector, but the adaptor should cost like $10 tops.

This is what I thought as well. It sucks that we have to shell out 35 for something they are making a use, but that is Apple.

I just posted the sme thing! Makes me sick! They should be ashamed! I'm honestly starting to hate this company

How wonder how fast the Chinese can make a cheap knockoff.

I'd be surprised if they aren't shipping right now. I bought a handful of the current cables for a buck apiece so I could be lazy and have one at home, in the car, at work, gave a few away, etc.

Edit: I don't like to leave a discussion making assumptions so I did a quick search, and boy there are a lot of websites that need to remove / rename their 30-pin iPhone 5 sync cables. ;)

Good grief. I called it a 9 pin connector...

This is the only thing that makes me hesitate about buying the iphone 5 day 1.

I have a speaker dock at work and several docks at home/car. Plus there are 2 more iphones, 2 ipads and an ipod touch that will still be on the old 30-pin.

It just complicates things a little and adds to the cost quite a bit.

this new dock connector is here to stay so you'll have to upgrade sooner or later, right?

Lightning Dock Adapter - $29

Apparently it is not going to only be $10... It's $29 on Apples Website (at the moment)

Who needs to buy one and how many would you need to buy?

I need 2, one for my Zeppelin Air sound dock and one for the iPod/iPhone hook up in my car.

Hopefully they have a black adapter eventually.

A 30-pin connecter >> Bluetooth adapter will solve those problems. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/428223606/auris-bluetooth-for-your-dock is one that's in the process of being funded, but there are some others that are already available.

That price is absurd! Apple should know that alot of people are going to need a few of these. Like one for the car, dock at work, bose dock at home etc..... Those greedy ***** bastards should have some consideration on their customers.

im not one to complain about pricing usually but when I loaded the accessory page and saw $29 and $39 my jaw dropped. thats crazy. they are supposed to push for the smoothest transition to the new connector as possible not gouge us.

Wow! In the US the Lightning Adapter is $29.00 but the Lightning cable is only $19.00!! So it's cheaper to just buy new cables.

As my post states, I'm hesitant to upgrade on Day One as I have in the past.

I will probably upgrade later when cheaper adapters are readily available. Probably not until November.

The official Apple adapter releases in October which is bad enough
