I think it would suck...I'd rather be sleeping.

then sleep lol its a personal choice. Besides i kinda need to get my hands on it day 1 so i can make comparison videos with my partners Evo for youtube and what not, gotta be first at that stuff :p

If you're willing to be there at 4 am, might as well check every 2 hrs and nap in between. That is, if you're close enough to check that often. That's what I would do.

meh its like 5-6 minutes driving. idk i'm still thinking of how to do it. I wanna GUARANTEE a 32 GB iPhone, can't do 16 anymore

It's a very fun experience. :)

Lol! Yeah, I remember standing at my local AT&T in line 4am for my first iPhone 3G only to find around 20+ people already in front of me. Throughout the early morning the line grew quickly, but what made my experience fun was I got to know the people around me and how everyone shared the same excitement for the same product. It sure made the time go by a lot faster. Lucky for me, I was able to get mine and but felt bad for the ones who arrived closer to opening.

Safe to say, this year I pre-ordered my iPhone 4 for delivery. No rush. But it would still be fun on June 23 evening to drive by the stores and check the crazy lines, or watch the news media coverage. I can say I've been there, done that! :D

I'm going at 3pm on wed 23rd... my friend, my girlfriend and me are porting our numbers and since i'm self employed and my friend and gf both have the day off well we figured that instead of sitting at home waiting for the nite time we'll make it fun and bring some drinks and laptos and ds's and make sure we get 3 phones. Maybe even a white one.. ooooooooohhhhh

Question thou.. does anyone here work at radioshack or has bought a phone at radio shack.??

I'm wondering if radio shack can port numbers from t-mobile no problem.

When i went to radio shack to ask about pre-orders the guy gave some stupid answers and called the store manager right away to ask some simple questions about the iphone release.. it bothered me so much that it made me not wanna go there.. but him being ignorant about the iphone doesn't mean that the store may not be a good option to go and camp..

hmm, i might just go at 3ish. Judging by how big everyones 3G lines got (mine was only at 16 when i got there 2 hours earlier), i think i'm good. The line DID get big like an hour before the doors opened so hopefully its like that again :)

How badly does someone need a phone that they are willing to waste several hours of their life standing in line?

This is extremely amusing to me, seeing people camped out for a phone. I went to the Apple store on the day of the 3G and the next year on the day of the release of the 3Gs and BOTH times I sauntered into the store around 10am and walked out with a brand new iphone. I don't see that it will be any different this time around, although I haven't decided if I'm going to switch to an Android phone or maybe wait until the fall for the Verizon iphone.
