Just made some updates to my list to include any new suggestions. Keep them coming!!

Thanks for the list. I think I have over half of these bookmarked but there were some new ones and it's nice to have a list of links. Always looking for the perfect case (for me).

There is an interesting one from your Etsy link:
http://www.etsy.com/listing/4913233...ad&ga_search_type=&ga_page=14&order=&includes[]=tags&includes[]=title

It looks like a Vaga knock off, but if you look at the close up pics, it really looks like good stuff. I think it's about $35. Might gamble on it.

Thanks for this one. I did run across it at some point but couldn't find it easily the day I made the list. Thanks!

Keep in mind that "PU" leather is not leather but polyurethane or vinyl. I don't know how they get away with calling it leather but at that price point you kind of know that it's not. If you do order it, I'll be interested to see what it looks and feels like in person and how well it holds up.

Thanks!
Sandy

They have an interesting selection, I would just suggest buyers be cautious. The seller is violating etsy policies with this shop, you are not supposed to sell anything on there unless it is hand made or at least 20 years old (as in vintage). So this shop could be shut down at any moment.

I like to have a few different cases for different purposes. Usually I have one that is vinyl for rainy and winter outings, where you would not want fine leather to get damaged. I have seen some good vinyl that you could not visually tell it was not leather, aside from not having a leather smell. From the close ups this could be just that. Maybe not.

$35 isn't the most money in the world so I might pick it up. If I do, I'll post.
The seller has a 100% rating BTW.

After all this time waiting for the perfect folio for me, I finally found it: Power Support Portfoilo http://www.powersupportusa.com/catalog/product/view/id/284/s/leather-folio/category/37/

Is a user of this case truly able to believe that the plastic corner grippers will effectively hold the iPad?

I've always thought that a design with material completely surrounding the iPad, like the Apple Case, was more secure and protective.

(Personally, I'm leaning towards the Tuff-Luv iPad Bi-Axis Multi-View Case at the moment, but I haven't made the jump.)

You don't know what it can do until you looked at it yourself and tried it yourself.

I have a macally bookstand and it holds the iPad great. Granted, I am not swinging the iPad around trying to loosen the ipad...but in normal use, it holds it perfectly.

BAMV seems like a well engineered case...except that it is too close to the edge all the way around. It seems nobody gets it in the middle...enough to go around the edge...but not to close as to interfere with the screen or fingers along the edge.

Thoughts?

Thanks for Great Post: Still No Folio with MiFi POckets

What a great posting and thank you so much for taking the time to compile the list. Now, with your spare time, how about a list for cases for the new iphone 4? JK

Alas, even with this great list, there is still not a single folio case that has a convenient pocket for a MiFi card. I am still amazed at this oversight by the manufacturers and I haven't been able to get any of them interested. Just a slim folio (leather or not) where the frame and bezel of the iPad is not compromised, with vertical and horizontal stand options, AND, and a small integrated pocket on the front or back big enough to hold a MiFi card. I am not talking about the bigger and bulkier zipper models. For the time being, I use the SF Exo case with the Yoobao. Waiting anxiously for the Cloak from Quirky, but even that won't have the Mifi Slot.

I am still looking for a case that holds a notepad. Lol. I wold just develop it myself, but seems like a lot of work.

I only wish there was a real world version of this thread - - can you point me to a nearby location of The sandydlc iPad Case Store complete with a full selection of floor models to try on?

;)

None exist friend haha, but if you do not take the suggestions, reviews, and recommendations of your macrumors colleagues, you will be on the forever search for your ideal ipad case. Sometimes you just got to have faith in people! :p

Ha ha!! Seriously, that would be cool, wouldn't it??

I have figured out that I'm very tactile and when purchasing things online, you really miss out on understanding how the material feels. For example, if I order a leather bag, I much prefer leather that's supple and soft instead of stiff or rough.

I just got notice that the case I ordered from Etsy has shipped, along with the tracking number so I'll post when that comes in.

One more candidate for the list is the Snugg, another Apple case clone in leather selling for around $45.

Also, previously discussed here in the MacRumors forums.

Caution on the XGear Live case!!

XGearLive Carbon Folio - my husband has been using this case for just about one week and the strap just fell off. :(

Since we bought it from an Amazon vendor, I'm not sure if I have any recourse or not, but I thought I would post a note of warning for anyone considering this case.

Since I'm on the hunt for a slim, leather case for my iPad, similar to the Apple case I thought I would try to consolidate the great information from several threads into one so that our members will have an easier time finding links to the various options that are out there now.

Pretty good post, this should be set as a sticky thread ! :)

I have some recommendation :

- If you can separate the sleeve case from the case it will be nice, because i didn't want a sleeve but clicked anyway on those title without knowing there were sleeve :)
- If you can put the list alphabetical instead, it will be simpler to find
- You can change the release date about the Quirky from the 24th of june to 07/15/2010 now :(

Keep it up ! :)

I do have a day job! :)

I decided that trying to maintain this list alphabetically or separating sleeves from folios is more work than I have time for. Especially since I plan to continue adding and updating the list.

Maybe someone could create a public google doc with this information so we can divide the effort?

Another interesting one for convertible case is from TrendyDigital. It is about $40 from Amazon.com.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003U5M118

It also has a pretty cool name. It is called PadPal convertible case.
