Soon my brothers and my sisters, a new world will awaken, one filled with full screen applications and auto-save functions! A world where we can share wirelessly from mac to mac! A world where multi-touch gestures will control our universe! A world of Lion!

And when your children, your grandchildren, ask you "Where were you when Mac OS X Lion came out?"

You will stand up, and proudly say, "I WAS ON MACRUMORS WITH MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS UPON THAT GLORIOUS DAY!"

I think that you should run for the President of the United States!

You Guys are Nuts!

This has to be the fastest growing thread in MacRumor history. This is so silly I just have to contribute two lines myself . . .
Make it 3.

Up-to-date program

Does anyone have any idea how are they going to handle the Up-to-date program requests?
Best case would be an automated system based on the order number. Hopefully not a manual submission and days of waiting.

That guy is a dork.

Letdown #1 can be switched off.

Letdown #2 is optional. You don't have to use it.

Letdown #3 seems reasonable but only because the guy is fairly ignorant. Versoning with multiple users is non-trivial and requires specialized tools to work properly. You can either implement it badly or in a way that only experts will be comfortable using it.

Letdown #4 is a fair point but then again, why would you need to change to encryption more than once? Anyway, the feature didn't exist in SL so he's getting something for free that doesn't work entirely to his liking and he's complaining.

Letdown #5 is ridiculous. Server configuration is fairly complicated. If you don't know what you're doing you really shouldn't be messing with it. Also you can get an application to configure iDevices for free (iPhone configuration utility). It's pretty much as easy to use as anything I've seen.

Letdown #6 is not an OS problem but a hardware limitation. WTF?

Oh just reminded me. I need post-it notes. 3M's revenue increases whenever Apple launches new products.

so it's 1pm here in London, last i heard no new MBA's in the apple store on Regent Street

Presume that means they won't be wheeling the new one out today then?

I can't imagine they'd release them in the afternoon.... Or do you think there's a (slim) possibility they've been told to keep them out the back until Lion is released this afternoon?

When the 2011 MBP came out the store was down for about 4 hours. It came back up at around 2pm selling the new macs. Once this had happened I called the covent garden store who said they would release them at 4pm.

at least thats how I remember it :)

Yeah, I have done this. After they appear online the same store that told you they didn't know about new product x suddenly has them round the back.

The number of pages of this thread is growing so fast that I even could not keep in step with the thread.
