Appleinsider is reporting that lion and the new MBAs will be released at 8:30 am eastern on Wed, July 20...
Lion coming out official July 20th, 2011!

MacOSX has a history of friday releases, so I mean I think its friday.
But!!... Apple didnt release iPhone 4 on WWDC so they might now be trying to follow patterns this time

Whether it's Wed or Friday I think it is coming this week sometime

Haha good point. No one knows but appleinsider apparently has someone reliable telling them this
 
Everyone is a reliable source these days. Hell, I could be a reliable source compared to those who has already been used in one of those "inside knowledge"

If we say there is a pattern it would be Friday next week.

10.0 Cheetah March 24, 2001 - Saturday
10.1 Puma September 25, 2001 - Tuesday
10.2 Jaguar August 24, 2002 - Saturday
10.3 Panther October 24, 2003 - Friday
10.4 Tiger April 29, 2005 - Friday
10.5 Leopard October 26, 2007 - Friday
10.6 Snow Leopard August 28, 2009 - Friday

All of those releases came on CDs so maybe a Friday release isn't necessary/ won't happen?

Supposedly, Kara Swisher's name [from "All Things Digital"] has been attached to this latest bit of information. Seeing that she and Mossberg are routinely the ones who get to interview Steve, her information might just be as good as any other's ....

We'll see ....

I personally thought that 10.2 Jaguar which had lines of people around stores went on Sale at 10pm (I don't think it was midnight) and that it was a Friday night, but it certainly could have still been called a Saturday release like they did with CD releases on Monday nights or movies that show at 11:59pm on Thursday night.

That would mean that every major release of OS X has been on a Friday since neither Cheetah or Puma were considered events like the rest have been.

That all said I think the interesting thing to note is that while Leopard was promised in October 2007 and they came through with it, and obviously Lion was promised for July (I think all the others were just announced dates and not promised within a particular month), all the OS X releases were between the 24th and 29th of the month they came out in. That certainly points more to next week. One might say they have all been a 2n date or later, so conceivably Wed the 20th or Friday the 22nd are plausible.

The whole zodiac thing with Leo (Lion) starting on the 22nd or so is very coincidental too. That could very well point to this Friday. But they could easily wait till the 29th and still fit the pattern well. Given none have been before the 20th of the month or even the 24th before, I don't think we should have ever expected it last week or earlier.

Your Welcome, I just think everyone needs to chill for a while, I was all caught up in the rumors, before the terrible rumor about it being released last Thursday. Now I just ignore them.

Yeah I thought last Thursday was going to be the day but it will be out in the next 2 weeks for sure!
 
I am skeptical about Wednesday, I think it will come on Friday at 6pm. It seems like this is when Apple always releases OS builds whether they are iOS beta or the Mac OS Developer Preview
