Excuse me, you have it connected to your *cassette* player? I'm sorry but I think that might explain your confusion! ;) :D

Not sure what you mean here. I have mine hooked up to my cassette player every day. A tape adapter is cheaper than an FM transmitter.

Another bug that can hopefully be fixed. Both of my 3GS phones exhibit bizarre brightness levels when running on auto brightness some of the time (especially in low light situations).

My 3G and the 3G of my friends don't exhibit the problem.

major issues with my voicemail. Recieved 5 voicemails randomly yesterday that were from the previous 3 days. Totally stuck in the system somewhere and they randomly showed up on my visual voicemail. so pissed. Major amount of dropped calls and signal seems to be weaker. Other than that it runs good...oh wait...wifi + apple remote issues..

16gb 3g

Phone not ringing

Sometimes my 3G doesn't ring when calls come in, then it won't make a tone when a voicemail is left. THEN the earpiece will have no sound when making a call, even after the person/voicemail picks up. This is typically what happens:

1. I want to check the time or something (screen is black as normal)
2. I press home button
3. Screen turns on, looks as if someone is calling at that moment (even "slide to answer" animation is working) but NO ringing or vibrating
4. I "slide to answer."
5. Calling screen immediately fades away, "Phone" app opens up as if I had just missed it.
6. Call is listed in Recents (a few minutes ago or whatever), and voicemail icon shows that one has been left.
7. I call back OR call voicemail.
8. No sound from earpiece, even after hanging up and calling person/voicemail back
9. Restart or respring usually fixes the problem in the short-term

Seems like a software issue as this has never happened before the 3.0 update, but has occurred 3-4 times since updating a few days ago. The phone is jailbroken, but I don't have backgrounder or any cydia apps running in the background.

This happening to anyone else?

Sometimes my text message doesn't go off when I get a text.

When I go to reply a text, it shows the middle of the conversation, not the most recent text.

When texting, sometimes the keys make a weird noise/no noise at all.

Those all kind of annoy me.

Unlock screen bug.

I am getting this bug every once in a while. See attached.

Playback function controls show up when nothing is being played.

I have already done hard resets and a iphone as new restore.

Anyone else seeing this?

Three bugs.

I've got the 32gb 3gS.
1.) Upon receipt of a text message, most of the time, it sounds the tone at the time of the receipt, sometimes several minutes later, sometimes both (one text, two alerts a few minutes apart).

2.) Occasionally (5-6 times in the last two weeks), if I'm on the phone with someone, at the end of the call, the iPod will start to play a random track from the '[all]songs' list (which I never use). This happens when I was not listening to the iPod prior to the call. The song played will not have any correlation to the last song/playlist (alphabetical/next song on playlist/next playlist) that I listened to when I was using the iPod.

3.) I have WiFi turned off, and yet it shows a connection sometimes when near a node when it should remain 3G. This is in spite of the fact that there is a strong AT&T signal in the area.

Sidenote: Is there a way to temporarily disable GPS? I can't find anything in the 3.0 users document or any undocumented features list.

That's always been there. You get that on the lock screen by pressing the home button twice.

It's not a bug, its a feature.

HI there

1) the text alert sounds when the message comes in and again a few minutes later and again after that. this can be disabled in the settings. also its always been a feature.

2) are you ending the call via the headset? if you do and the other person hangs up fractionally before you the phone believes that you are doing a single click to start playback and this will be on shuffle (if set up in settings).
this is due to the phone being unble to terminate the connection twice!!:D

3) have no idea.....

as far as i know there is no way of disabling the GPS ive never seen any options for it. in all honesty ive never had the reason to!

In the Photos app, the interface will fade out to show just the photo, but in 3.0 when this happens, most of the time I can't bring it back by tapping the screen and have to relaunch the app.

Ah thanks.

My 3g after a year old started doing this. Apple replaced it. The refurbished one does the same thing. I got the 3GS, same thing. My wifes 3g doesn't do this at all.

Had my 16Gb Black 3G S since 9.00am Friday. I have noticed it was turning itself off randomly. 5 times this happened on Friday, and Twice this morning. Took it back and got it swapped for another new one today. Man in shop said it is the 3rd he had swapped with the problem.

Anyone else?

So far, new one is OK.

Seems to be happening to mine too. 32Gb 3GS purchased on Friday 26th. I've also had random switch offs. Haven't had it changed yet.

Same issue with me....This is really frustrating....
A phone is of no use if it can not receive and make calls....
I don't know when and how it can be resolved.

I noticed three bugs so far.

1) Sometimes when unlocking phone it starts up very dim.
2) SMS sound does not always go off.
3) The 20% and 10% battery warnings either come up twice or 10% never.
