There is 3D in central london

I can get the 3D satellite imagery but the buildings are still flat in standard mode. It just won't load the latest data.

So glad none of these cache issues seem to be affecting me...but, I have probably not used it enough in that part of the world.

My one big agreement with the whiners on here is the symbols used for poi's....I think the transportation ones will really have to match the symbols that relate to those systems. The third party apps do a great job of that, but the first glance to even get to that point would look nicer and be more informative.

My Flyover seems to be intermittently working. I still can't get the Statue of Liberty in Flyover. To illustrate this, my SoL still looks like the screenshot on the left, not the right:

Is there something I should be doing?

While updating my list on page 15 I found out some interesting new things:
1. A few cities lost details like the 2D building outlines (Glasgow, Newcastle, Madrid, Nashville), this may be just a bug.
2. Almost every city with Flyover now also feautures 3D building outlines, that indicates that the Flyover datas are used for these outlines (seems like they are using the height of the flyover models and the 2D outlines to generate the buildings). Some of the 3D outlines are also reworked by hand (London Eye, World Trade Center, Statue of Liberty ...).
3. There are a few cities featuring 3D building outlines, but no Flyover mode. This could indicate upcoming Flyover for this cities. Most of these cities are in the US (Indianapolis, Washington D.C., Oklahoma City, Anaheim, Santa Ana) and Japan (Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Sapporo, Kobe, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Sendai, Kitakyushu, Chiba, Sakai), but there's also Cologne in Germany.

Weird. When I search for Jersey City, I don't get the flyover toggle button/option, just 3D. Am I doing Flyover wrong?

Not everyone is getting the new changes at the same time. It seems you just have to be patient and wait for it to appear.

If you want to try and force-refresh the maps to see the latest changes, try manually closing the Maps app (double-tapping home button, holding finger on Maps icon, press red minus sign). Worked for me.

On a separate note, how does one do the flyover where it actually flies around like in the keynote demo? I tried to show this to a friend and I had to manually rotate it with my fingers which is not as cool as automatically flying over. I tried to pick to places on the map to get directions to/from, but it insisted on using the current location as one of them which is a problem since the current location doesn't have 3D.

I too was wondering this. I don't think you can; I think it was something Apple rigged up just for the keynote and isn't actually a feature of the app. Sneaky.

Washington D.C. Has now the 3D vector map but no flyover. I wonder it's a cache thing.:)

I'm pretty sure every place in the maps app has 3D vectoring, even out in the middle of nowhere.

So up to date that you can see they were rehearsing the ceremony, look at the river on the ground...

Doesn't matter very much, as long as the actual map is missing the basic. I was trying to find Bethnal Green station today. It's not even on the map. How they were able to ship without even including all tube stops just boggles the mind.
