Dropbox finally retina display support.

Been staring at that little icon for a while, looks so good to see it nice and crisp :).

Any word on QuarkXpress yet? Their iPad creation app supports Retina iPad but I'm hoping Quark 9.x will support Retina MBP.

Yes there are some people out there who still prefer Quark to InDesign.

Adobe Dreamweaver CS6

I just downloaded and installed the Retina update for this. I've been waiting for it forever. Of course it comes, just as school ends. :(

Going to be picking up a retina 2.6 soon and do a lot of music production and editing. Does anyone know whether Reaper (it's a digital audio workstation) has been updated to take advantage of retina resolutions?

I don't know of any daws that are retina supported - I use Reason and Ableton and both are not - from what I have heard as well they are not in a hurry - reason won't be fixing until Reason 7

Ok guys...... sorry but I'm new here. Somebody care to explain what exactly this "retina display" is? Are the apps different for this and for a normal iPhone?

You're in the wrong section. this is retina MacBook PRo thread.

Seriously...? That's ridiculous. I could understand 3rd party software to be lagging behind in retina support but Apple should have built retina support for every single application they made BEFORE they even shipped the retina models. To have applications, especially professional applications like Logic, not even support the retina resolutions nearly 6 months after the initial launches of products that support them is unacceptable in my book.

The last major release of Logic Pro was back in 2009.
Either a new release is very close or the thing is essentially dead.

I still assumed they would have provided an update for the interface to make it retina level. That shouldn't take too much. It's not as if we're asking for a huge software update. It'd be simply cosmetic to make it up to snuff. It's not like the retina machines are some niche product from Apple; these are their flagship machines and most likely the future of their product lines (with regards to all Macs shipping with retina panels).

I just assumed it would be in Apple's best interest to make sure all their applications, at the very least, were retina aware.

Logic Pro 8 never got past 8.0.2, but that's not because it was done so well and with no bugs.

Yeah, it kinda pisses me off. Logic has been lacking behind in general, but to make a brand new pro machine and not update one their major applications for half a year? That's just ridiculous.

I ordered it because the screen got the best of me, but as sure as hell am I starting complaint letters the moment I get it.

The main application is pretty much retina ready since it mainly consists of standard UI elements.
What's not ready are all the plugin UIs, most of which are completely graphics based and very pixel-art heavy. Updating these means recreating all of them from scratch, which is probably several man-years worth of work for the whole Logic Pro suite. This is much more than what was needed for Aperture or Final Cut for example.

My guess is that if a new major version of Logic Pro is nearing completion, they don't want to waste their time doing all of that work twice (once for the old version and once for the new one). But if there's nothing new on the horizon by next june, I wouldn't get my hopes too high for the future of the application.

Actually no. Plenty of logic is still made with image files not with coreimage renders.

There has been some rumors but nothing much. :(

I'm not going to read all 11 pages to check, but I notice that Microsoft Office isn't listed on the first page.

I have Office for Mac 2011 and it has been optimized for Retina. It looks very good.

is there a PDF Reader with Retina support? i'm getting a headache trying to read my script from uni on that display

edit: nvm i am an idiot, completely forgot preview existed ^^ got so used to having adobe x pro
