admin edit:: Running list of Universal Binaries can be found at this page

http://guides.macrumors.com/List_of_Universal_Binaries
------------------------------------

I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread (sticky if possible) to keep all the PPC apps that have been released as universal. I will Constantly update this first post with the apps and links to their free download or online stores to buy them/pay for the cross grade.

I think this is a good idea because all the app companies will be releasing them at different times

JANUARY 06

iLife 06 (iPhoto, iDvd, iMovie, iWeb, iTunes etc) is fully Universal and available from the Apple store (UK Store here)

CyberDuck FTP App.

Cocktail Disk Utility App

I think a wiki page might be better. It shouldn't be too tricky to maintain a "database" of universal apps.

Alright, I've made a page

You just had to make one at the same time as me, with the same name, didn't you? :p

Edit: Hmm, I think I broke it :(

Edit 2: Or not. I'm new at this.

Basically. ;)

I actually linked to it incorrectly on the Universal Binary page, but now it's all fixed (I flipped the link text and the actual link). Now we can start adding a list of apps!

You're quick! I went to change my Adium entry to match your formatting, and by the time I'd clicked Edit, you'd already changed it :)

Hex has been in there too :)

Mysteriously, I hadn't listed the first two apps. I suppose it was HexMonkey who had (who's even faster than the two of us put together!).

I've taken a few of Doctor Q's posts to start a basis for the page. I'm not going to take all of the posts over because some of them are a few months old, and quite obviously things have changed since then.

Would it be worth making the article world editable? I think it would benefit from that since it will need updating a lot.

BTW, when will MassReplaceIt go Universal? :D

I compiled it as a universal binary yesterday, so probably in the next version (due for release later this month). I don't have access to an Intel Mac though, so I've got no idea whether it actually works or not; I'll need to find someone who has one to test it.

I don't understand "no commitment yet"

Does that mean they've announced that they will be shipping Universal Binaries but don't have a date?

Or does it mean they haven't said one way or another? Cause if it means that, then they might as well not be on the list.

Seems like a silly question but MYOB's listing suggests they haven't even announced it.

Also, when applicable, if you can post a link to the annoucnement, that would help keep track of things.

thanks

The source is this post and this article from June 2005, so it looks like it means they haven't said either way, and they might as well be deleted from the list. Of course, many of them will have made more recent announcements.

Could you edit the wiki page (link at top) as wll. I already added the Omni ones this morning...
I've not registered as a MacGuides editor, so if someone else could add SubEthaEdit and PHPfi it would be nice... :)

I've added them. I would have thought that you have been around long enough that your forum login would have automatically become a MacGuides one...

Maybe... I've just never tried (and remember some discussion about regestering)... :)

Thanks...
