New RULE, only games that you've completed can be listed. :D

I like where your head is at, but I feel like people can decide if a game is terrible about halfway through a game, and if it is, they will probably not finish it.

I just started Mass Effect, and I already can tell it isn't really my style.

I know I'll get flamed for this: but...

MGS4

I just can't get into it. I borrowed it from a friend for a while and it was just too d@mn slow. I played the original way back on the PS1 and really liked it, but haven't played one since. I've also played Splinter Cell games and liked them. Maybe my attention span has shorten since I've gotten older, but I don't have the time to spend an hour just going through one building, making sure I don't get spotted. I've definitely turned into a "run and gun" gamer with COD4 or Halo.

The game looked nice and all, but I felt like I spent so much time in the menus and watching cut scenes that I wasn't really playing.

Too Human definitely makes my list. Finished the first round.. and I'm 17% through the game? Come on!

Snore, I'm sorry, I meant Spore definitely makes my list. How could a body item's stats not stack? What's the point then?

Anything on the Wii.

While I loved Fable 2, it was too short. Why have different "classes" when through the course of the game you can easily max out everything?

Funny, I liked Lost Oddessy. It was a harkening back to original RPGs with no frills and weirdly feminine male characters. :)

Actually I forgot Mario Kart came out this year, I'll replace FC2 with that. I only played it for a few races since since I was at a friends house waiting for Rock Band 2 to be set up, but what I did play I was bored to tears. Its just too slow and too easy. Mario Kart 64 was fun but ever since Diddy Kong Racing the series has been so boring.

Of course the easy levels are slow and boring.

Lol sounds like somebody played on a slow CC.

I like to kid. ;)

Speaking of not my style, I bought Gears of War today -- it was cheap like ME, so only $29. To me it feels like an adult action-figure game. I keep on looking for my hands as I dive around cover. The best part is that I can just shoot blindly from cover. :) I'm playing it on "HARDCORE." WHoOoOOoOOooooo. What were they thinking with the cheeseballl blood? o_O Dam thing made me choose a a gamertag. *grumbles*

That's impossible, how do you expect people to play through games they don't like. How much free time do you have

Exactly. I just thought it would be funny, because MRU's list would be empty. :D

I've drudged through a few games I didn't like. For example Xena Warrior Princess on the N64 is one of the worst games I've encountered and I completed it. It cost me $7 at Target. I brought it home and beat it in less than a half hour by repeatedly pressing any button.

My biggest disappointment:

Super Smash Brothers Brawl

Huge drop from the fun Melee was. In fact, I would go back and play Melee if I could choose. The game was total fan-service, but the gameplay felt like it took a backseat. Subspace Emissary was a disaster to what it could have been.

My worst of the year?

- Spore (PC). Tedious, boring rubbish. I didn't bother finishing the Space Age it was that crap.
- Banjo Kazooie 3 (360). Utter tripe, Rare should be ashamed they released this. I'm ashamed my other half paid for it.
- Wii Music (Wii). Nintendo further kill the Wii as a serious console, and further pander to the idiotic masses.

Rest of them were at least entertaining enough to complete, even though they may not be amazing (looking at you, Force Unleashed).

Only one that really bothered me was Too Human. It was like the game wanted you to die so you could see the death animation a million times.

And just a word about Spore, I think it was over hyped. A lot of people approached it as something it could never be because it was sold as some sort of uber game to rule them all. I actually had quite a bit of fun, but I am a scientist.

I was most disappointed with GTA4. It took out much of the stuff I love of early ones and replaced with stuff I didn't like so much. It was a good game on many levels, but I didn't enjoy it. Stopped after about 25 hours and don't think I'll ever touch the game again...not even for random mayhem (which I used to love to do) now I'll do more running around in Crackdown or Assassin's Creed

I had high hopes for it, I really did. But it has been a major let down as of now. I am glad to see Infinity Ward gets CoD 6.

Well technically Infinity Ward gets COD5, this one doesn't have a number. I know, I know, I should probably just shut my face, but that always bugs me. :D

Yeah I found I enjoyed COD:WAW more than COD4, not because it was a better game, but there was that element that was lacking that kept me grounded in reality. I could actually [/b]laugh[/b] when I died, unlike COD4, where everything was so perfect, that if you died, it felt like the world was coming to an absolute end because you lost your amazing kill streak (which, looking back, weren't very spectacular at all).

Throw in some Unreal Tournament 3. Just another disappointing sequel that traded in fun for psuedo-realism, brown graphics and motion blur.

Wasn't that last year? Or does it just feel like that long ago I played it?

That game was such a disappointment. The previous ones were so much better.

Might have been late last year, I got when it hit Steam (only place I get PC games from now) in Jan/Feb-ish.

Call of Duty : World at War....I don't know how people expected this game to be better then COD4

I agree, MP was not great, SP wasn't memorable like the COD4 ending was, I actually forgot their names.

only good part was zombie mode.

Halo 3, for me this is the worst game of the year.

I cant believe i even pre ordered Halo 3, i hated it, it was just a copy and paste of the first game. As a franchise its not worth half the attention it gets. Its bland, offers little challenge, has no depth, its graphics were mediocre (what's with the excessive bloom?) and has a plot more wobbly than a 50's tv sci-fi set and even worse it's campaign is borderline criminally short and highly unimaginative.
