Seriously iPhone events are getting more boring by the year

The reason is simple. It's all iterative. Better cameras, speed, ram, storage, screen. "Innovation" is relative. And there doesn't seem to be anything "big" in the past several years. That's not to diminish the value of new and improved features.

Still looks like an Xbox 360 game, even though it has more advanced hardware than that. If this is the most beautiful game they could find to show off the new iPhone, it just goes to show how few companies are focusing development on graphically intense iOS games.

It’s so they can differentiate via the different form factors
Yeah, makes sense to milk that for another year. Otherwise the Series 4 would be a pretty good deal at a lower price point. The Series 4 is still amazing, and for some people the always on display wouldn't be enough of a differentiating factor. But getting the bigger display as well makes it worth it to pay more.

What an useless event?? They are relying on others companies and demos to fill in the time slots or what??
This has always been a thing, even back during the Jobs days they had various different companies on stage demoing software.

I’m always amused when people complain about boring phone updates. What are they expecting at this point? Smartphones are a mature product and things like foldable phones are just gimmicks at this point.

Hearing that sound with loads of ominous reverb made me think the iPhone ringtones were gonna get a gritty reboot.
