That’s interesting, because any well designed app should only ask once, and maybe repeat if you change some setting that requires push notifications (or microphone access, or whatever). It could be I don’t use many push notification apps, but nothing I’ve seen pesters like that.

Sadly, I think that’s entirely on the app side; the App has to know whether push notifications are on or not, and don’t think(?) the nagging is via an API that Apple could prevent it. (And if it is, then maybe something is goofed up on your install?)

Nah you’re right I’m just complaining. Audible is the main culprit. But I’ve noticed more doing it lately. It is definitely badly behaved apps. But I wish we had a way to deny them notifications without them knowing so they don’t have the opportunity to constantly nag about them.

Now please someone give me a tip on how to stop apps from annoying me to grant them push notification permission every single time I launch them. I know why they want it, I don’t want them to have it. But they just won’t stop.

Why do they want it??..

I found it really odd that by default they basically removed double tap’s largest feature (pause/play on media) unless you dig into settings to make the media player full screen again.

Double tap is that finger pinch gesture to control the watch?? I never use that stuff so just wondering what you mean exactly. And where in settings is this found? Watch settings app or watch app on
iPhone? Thanks

They want it because it also allows them to send silent push notifications to wake up my device for analytics purposes. And of course to advertise at me.

ESPN is another one. I very carefully turned off all promotional pushes and still got a “catch up on what you missed!” And so I turned them off and now that one bugs me about it too. Even though it is allowed Live Activities.

Apple actually enforces the ban on advertising through those, but now allows push notification ads. That’s why they’re all so damn annoying about it now.
