The least anticipated Apple Event since Gil Amelio era.

Maybe not among some of the hardware only crowd, but it's generating more worldwide interest than just about any previous event because of the anticipated foray into new services. Every major and minor news site is reporting it and it's getting massive coverage for these new services, which was Apple's goal.

For the first time in 15 years, I won't watch the livestream of an Apple event. Let's see what it brings, but I'm in no way inclined to sit through 2 hours of corporate wanking by the beancounter Tim and Phil 'the shill' Schiller.

Don't worry, the other 100 million folks can fill you in on what you missed.

You're not disappointed if you have no expectations :)

The fact is I just don't care about services so this event isn't for me. I already have too many subscriptions, I don't need more.

It just seems to me like Apple is joining a saturated market (especially regarding the TV service) and I don't see what's so exciting about that. I guess we'll see how they differentiate themselves.

I have a feeling this as well as the news app may be available on all platforms. There's no way Apple can compete with competing services by relying on Apple users only.

Apple users are approaching a billion people, so there's that:) Apple News is already the biggest by far with 100 Million regular monthly users, so there's that.
But, as with Apple Music, there's already a precedent of letting other platforms use an Apple Music. Will likely boil down to whether Apple is using it to make a more attractive bundle, sell more hardware, etc.

The sheer amount of hate produced by these forums as a result of this particular Apple event will be legendary. Can't wait. :)

Am really excited just for the hate we can produce out of it, hopefully.
Apple has kind of reverse engineered its legacy, haha

Apple really is driving home the point that they're not showing hardware.

I'm surprised that they wouldn't at least have a bunch of TVs with AppleTVs to let reporters try the new TV app, if not new Apple TV hardware.
