It doesn't play in Safari at all. It plays using Quicktime X. Quicktime X is only in Snow Leopard.

Apple has been caught more than once pulling BS crap like that.

It is standard Apple practice and I will call them on every time I see it.

Don't pay any attention to people that want to bring others down, they are just miserable, period. Their will be new products added to the store. Why else would it be down during the media event. I'm just glad I can watch it on my iMac, it's great to be a Mac user, especially today. :)

Actually, it isn't really artificial. It's not on Windows because it requires QuickTime X. QuickTime X isn't on Windows because it requires various software hooks only available in Snow Leopard - hence why X isn't available on 10.5 either.

Yes, it would technically be possible to update QuickTime 9 for Windows to include HTTP Live Streaming. It could also be argued that Safari 4 on Tiger could/should be updated for HTML5 because not doing so would be artificially limiting it.
