That is a good link for anyone who suffers from Apple artificial limitation they put in their so called "open standards"

"Open standard" that only Apple can use is not exactly what I call Open.

It's not that only Apple can use it. It's that others have not adopted this standard. They are free to do so whenever they please. They just haven't.

Sort've like how several browsers have not adopted (certain aspects of) the CSS3 open standard, or HTML5 etc. - they're still open standards.

I love these mini keynotes. I even liked the one with the iPod Hi/Fi and leather iPod socks.

Not having Macworld has been actually very nice, since Apple can take their time doing things and not be pressured into getting 2 or 3 big products ready for one show. Giving each new iThing its own dedicated keynote is a lot better!

Yep. It's fully open. The data needed to implement it is online, but I'd rather not go googling and posting links on my iPhone.

Those that tried last time: Can this be streamed via 3G/Edge on the iphone? or is it wifi only?

Cloud computing is all the rage

Definitely agree that Cloud computing built into OS X is the revolutionary feature. This seems very likely given Apple's plans to build server farms, etc. Personally I'd love them to fix Finder and Spotlight search in OS X. It's really my only complaint with Snow Leopard. Finder is woefully inadequate and is in serious need of an overhaul. Spotlight is also pretty sad. Could we at least have content highlighting for search results and the ability to control the default search parameters?

In all fairness to him, an app that used such filthy words like "up", "yours" and "screw" would probably be rejected from the app store, he was only supporting Apple with that self censorship ;)

'Filthy' words?

You are part of the problem too.

What is happening to this country....:(

See it fails when the fact that even safari for windows can not play it or anything below Snow Leapod.

Those to above reason lock in that they are artificially putting block in it.

It doesn't play in Safari at all. It plays using Quicktime X. Quicktime X is only in Snow Leopard.

That's largely irrelevant. The built-in player that safari uses supports both, so it works on both.

have you seen the engadget pictures apple is serving breakfast... i want some....can't wait for the vid stream

Glad I am not the only one who feels this way. Kind of ridiculous considering what they could do with both.

I streamed it via 3G on my iPad last time. It would break up once in awhile, but otherwise was good.

Well the built in player also plays bbc iplayer (in the UK) but only over wifi and 3g on selected networks, it also plays youtube in much lower quality over 3g than wifi - so just because it's supported doesn't mean it's enabled.
;):D

@spazzcat - thanks!

Agreed.
I like Appel announcements on Apple's terms.
