So I have the 2017 iPad, I got it for $300 but am still in my return period, if I do not care about the apple pencil is there a good reason to return it for this?

Faster LTE and better CPU. I'd return it unless you got the 128GB for $300 in which case i'd keep it as it will be $329 for the new 32GB model

I'm amazed they didn't add a keyboard for the educational bundle. An iPad for education without a keyboard gets an "F". The pencil is nice, but you really need a keyboard. It's for school - not watching Netflix. Since they didn't include it, the one to get is the Brydge. works very nicely with the iPad.

So basically, exactly like last year's iPad 9.7, but with the A10 (iPhone 7 chip) instead of the A9, and support for the Apple Pencil.

Yeah. So to have a complete iPad schools would have to pay $299/iPad, $100/pencil, $150/keyboard.
Apple is insane if they think they can compete with Chromebook with this.
From what I saw on The Verge they were saying it doesn't have a smart connector for a keyboard. There is also third party stylus support with the Logitech Crayon which is half the price at $49. Since they made special mention of it, I imagine it works similar to the Apple Pencil on the new display.

200gb cloud that is really a nice sweet spot.. I'd imagine then WWDC is going to have some sort of changes for everyone.

So $299 iPad plus $99 for Apple Pencil plus $99 for Logitech case/keyboard. Not sure how that will compete against Chromebooks. Also hopefully the 200GB free iCloud means a consumer announcement is coming at WWDC.

Thanks for all the replies, I think I will. I have a few Android tablets so I can get by until I can get the new one. I still can't believe people pay $99 for that pencil though.

iPad Pro is more than just Apple Pencil support. The display is a fair bit better, for one. You also have the Smart Connector (even if that seems only good for the Smart Keyboard).

Well.... You see some budget Windows tablet has these types of connector that docks with keyboard. This is not really something technologically advanced stuff.

I give you the display. However, if you compare with the 329 iPad and the older 9.7 inch iPad Pro... It shows that old iPad Pro is way overpriced.
