I'm not sure what is so innovative about the X - The Samsung Galaxy S8 has an edge to edge display so thats nothing new. Face ID is somewhat gimmicky and given the choice I'm sure many would prefer to stick with Touch ID. I think I will skip this gen and buy an iPhone 7+

$1000, 64 GB.... Nope. Especially when Apple still insists on not allowing external memory expansion.

Apple should just include a lower quality but higher capacity SD storage chip in there and call it DEEP storage, for all those apps and things you use very infrequently, but still want on your phone.

Interesting that the blush gold thing turned out to be incorrect. Wonder what happened there? Supply chain leaks mixed up with the new gold on the 8 maybe.

The biggest thing here is all the energy they spent on getting rid of the TouchID button which was my favorite part of the iPhone. Anyone think there may be major problems with all in on the FaceID thing? They have really put it all out there if this has problems, it will be a disaster, and that's the main thing that is really different on this device... which of course got them edge to edge. I would rather they went with a different location for the TouchID ... side or back... as a backup until this was proven in the field.

Remember similar stories when Touch ID was introduced. Personally never was too thrilled about TouchID. Face ID if working well looks like better alternative.

Right. That's what I was pointing out in the first place - they said it won't work if your eyes are closed - thus saving mommy & daddy from kids trying to authorize transactions while they're sleeping.

It was a general question. I understood. I was simply implying why would children take their parents phone. That's it.

Every feature from every phone announcement is "on paper". I usually get very close to what they announce as far as battery life goes.

It's been 2.5 years since my upgrade. Gives me a month to think about if I want to upgrade my perfectly fine phone. I don't want to spend money just to spend. I'd rather invest my money.

Same here.
I'm moving to Japan, seems subsidized phone contracts offer a better deal there so may end up getting it.
But I'm not too thrilled about it anyway...
