I don't even understand what you mean about being bad at his job. You said.

And you are sitting behind a computer criticizing someone anonymously. You are doing exactly what you accused him of.
So what am I supposed to do. Ask for the phone number and criticize in person? I called out what was genuinely rude behavior and these forums can use less of that. Yours is just an argument for sake of argument.

Ok he's technically wrong because the Lytro camera allowed you to change the depth of field after the fact, but it was expensive and low resolution and didn't sell well. Putting this in the hands of anyone is fantastic.

If Smart HDR and variable aperture work well, and arent beta-ish, just like the demo... this will be a breakthrough imo!

The potential of this camera upgrade seems pretty sweet

Apple learned the hard way getting smoked by Pixel2, that algorithms are the way to go. Quality camera sensors alone aren’t gonna do it (but they’re needed too).

Oh my God I’ve been waiting for stereo audio for videos for so long. Take my money!

I wondered if all this is 2018 exclusive or 12.1?

Sensor is 2x faster and can record stereo sound

The DOF stuff is probably A12 exclusive. He keeps mentioning A12. It's basically a gaussian blur though...

I see, got the mandatory millennial post here. Camera is all important for dem selfies.

Do you know how many photos are taken on iPhone and smartphones? You think only young people take photos? Don't be naive.

My parents and grandparents take more photos than I do. The camera is super important to many people.

Agreed. Tim’s excitement comes across kind of annoying and a bit annoying sales man

I'd likely be OK with it (and be excited too) if it were during a breathtaking intro like the iPhone or iPad but here in the age of "only" refinements and enhanced functionality (and new hardware fashion), the emotion just feels a bit tiring. Like being this emotional over each yogurt at each new day's breakfast.

I love Apple and technology, but I've realized that iPhone keynotes are no longer "must watch live" events. It's gotten to the point of such incremental updates (especially the camera) that I just don't care because it's not relevant to me. I know other people enjoy it, but I would be just as happy if I read the summary later today.

Battery life! iPhone XS lasts 30m longer than the X. Max has biggest iPhone battery ever, up to 90m longer than X. No hard numbers though.

Hour and a half longer than the X
