I love Apple and technology, but I've realized that iPhone keynotes are no longer "must watch live" events. It's gotten to the point of such incremental updates (especially the camera) that I just don't care because it's not relevant to me. I know other people enjoy it, but I would be just as happy if I read the summary later today.

Yep but you know how Apple does it. Takes another manufacturer feature and say they were the first to do it.

It's hard to believe/understand details when we constantly hear hyperboles such as "amazingly completely redesigned", "completely re-engineered from the ground up" when it's not etc.

Tone mapping and shadow details I think will really enhance the photos, especially depending on the ambient lighting environment. Looking forward to testing it.

You're looking tone mapped HDR. HDR, when done properly, is outstanding.

I feel like I get that much more just having a dark mode on my jailbroken X with pure blacks, with most of the screen turned off in some commonly used apps

For 40% more efficient chip power wise, thats disappointing

I'd likely be OK with it (and be excited too) if it were during a breathtaking intro like the iPhone or iPad but here in the age of "only" refinements and enhanced functionality (and new hardware fashion), the emotion just feels a bit tiring. Like being this emotional over each yogurt at each new day's breakfast.

He's starting to remind me of Tom Smykowski from Office Space: "I have people skills; I am good at dealing with people. Can't you understand that? What the hell is wrong with you people?"

No idea about what device this feature will be limited to, but there's some existing apps that have some slick features like this (and work on current-before-today hardware)
